Sony already delivered IP Live solutions to more than a hundred studios and Outside Broadcast vehicles worldwide. Together with our network of leading industry partners Sony offers broadcasters and production companies end-to-end IP Live solutions that span hardware and networking as well as software and applications for complete system management and orchestration-including our Live Element Orchestrator (LEO) and IP Live System Manager (LSM).
In June 2019 Sony forged a strategic partnership with Nevion AS, an award-winning provider of innovative Software Defined Network (SDN) technology. Together, both companies can offer truly end-to-end IP Live solutions offering maximum performance and minimized costs. Many of Sony's IP-ready products including studio cameras, switchers and servers are compliant with SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS technical standards. And through our active participation in the work of the world's leading media standardization organizations, we're helping deliver truly open solutions that optimize today's operations while creating exciting new production possibilities.
Remote integration
IP Live opens up exciting opportunities for remote and virtualized production. IP allows broadcasters and program makers to consolidate production resources at a central location, requiring less equipment to be transported to remote venues for coverage of live events. By supporting major industry formats and protocols, our IP solutions promise greater flexibility and expansion. In addition, virtualization technologies enable minimum system configuration to output maximum.
Live Element Orchestrator (LEO) and IP Live System Manager (LSM)
Our Live Element Orchestrator (LEO) software centralizes overall system management and optimization of your IP connected facilities and resources across multiple locations-including remote set-up, discovery and allocation, scheduling, and monitoring. IP Live System Manager (LSM) is our broadcast controller application that controls video/audio routing, identifying source names, setting tally, and more. Complementing LSM, LEO enables smart IP live workflows for local and remote facilities.
End-to-end networked orchestration
IP live production can help broadcasters satisfy increasing demand for premium content while controlling operational costs. Offered in partnership with Nevion, our end-to-end networked orchestration and SDN (Software Defined Network) control solution helps content creators manage and optimize their network resources-empowering more efficient local and remote production plus resource sharing across multiple locations.
