Arbitron Releases RADAR September 2013 Radio Network Ratings Network Radio Reaches Nearly 180 Million Persons 12 and Older On a Weekly Basis COLUMBIA, MD, September 16, 2013 Arbitron Inc. (NYSE: ARB) reported in its September 2013 RADAR (Radio's All Dimension Audience Research) Radio Network Ratings that nearly 180 million Persons 12 and older, or approximately 68 percent of this demographic, heard one or more network radio commercials in an average week of the survey period.
RADAR reports estimated audiences to network commercials broadcast by affiliates of the subscribing networks. RADAR audience estimates do not account for listening to all network radio programming.

The RADAR September 2013 survey period demonstrates network radio's power in reaching a mass audience in all demographics. Commercials aired on the 45 radio networks measure reached:
67.8 percent of Persons aged 12+ (178,640,000 Persons)
70.6 percent of Persons aged 18-49 (94,607,000 Persons)
71.3 percent of Persons aged 25-54 (89,200,000 Persons) The
RADAR September 2013 survey period also demonstrates network radio's extensive reach in the Top 25 DMA's (designated market areas).
70.4 percent of Persons aged 12+ (92,512,00 Persons)
73.6 percent of Persons aged 18-49 (50,560,000 Persons)
74.4 percent of Persons aged 25-54 (48,270,000 Persons)
*Editor's Note: The number of networks and their affiliates vary over time as the networks adjust to meet marketplace needs. These fluctuations affect the audience estimates for a particular RADAR report but are not indicative of a change in network radio as a whole because not all network radio is reported in RADAR.
About RADAR September 2013 Arbitron RADAR (Radio's All Dimension Audience Research) September 2013 is the standard currency for national network radio ratings and measures 45 individual radio networks. These networks are operated by American Urban Radio Networks, Crystal Media Networks, Cumulus Media Networks, Premiere Radio Networks, United Stations Radio Networks and WestwoodOne.
The sample size for the RADAR September 2013 is 395,897 persons aged 12 and older. This sample is designed to provide stability for key demographic estimates, dayparts, and Market-by-Market Analysis reports, which report all individual DMAs .
The RADAR September 2013 Report includes data from all 48 Arbitron PPM markets. The survey period for RADAR 118 covers June 21, 2012 to June 19, 2013.
