Twelve Berklee alumni, including faculty member Terri Lyne Carrington 83, were honored with 14 Grammy Awards on music s biggest night for their outstanding contributions to some of last year s top releases, including Beck s Morning Phase, which was named Album of the Year. The winners were recognized for their work in varied categories and fields, including engineering, rock, alternative, R&B, rap, jazz, and Americana.

A number of Berklee alumni contributed to other winning items. Ken Lewis 91 lent his skills as digital editor to Best Rap Album, The Marshall Mathers LP2 by Eminem. Hiro Iida 89 was a programmer and synthesizer for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which won Best Musical Theater Album. Bryan George 99 did licensing for the Best Historical Album, The Garden Spot Programs, 1950 by Hank Williams.
As the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences researches the producers, engineers, and mixers who contributed to Grammy Award-winning songs and albums, the number of Berklee alumni winners is expected to grow.
