Berklee and Boston Public Library Launch New Winter Concert Series

The Boston Public Librarys Winter Concert Series, presented in partnership with Berklee, features free acoustic concerts by Berklee artists performing in styles ranging from jazz and pop to soul and bluegrass.

The new Winter Concert Series gives us the opportunity to brighten winter Saturdays by bringing indoors the same level of artistry and enjoyment associated with our signature outdoor summer concerts, said Michael Colford, director of library services at the Central Library. We look forward to welcoming these talented Berklee students to continue to activate the librarys vibrant spaces, and were grateful to Bank of America for making this possible.

At Bank of America, we believe in the power of the arts, which is why we are making music more accessible at the Boston Public Library, said Miceal Chamberlain, Massachusetts president for Bank of America. The Winter Concert Series creates greater cultural understanding in one of Boston's greatest assets.

Berklee is excited to partner with the Boston Public Library again to feature outstanding young musicians of various genres at such an iconic space, said Jonathan Foo, concert producer and event liaison at Berklee.

Upcoming shows feature Virginia duo the Thistle Brothers on February 22, vocalists Minnie and Ella Jordan on February 29, American singer-songwriter Abi Nav on March 14, and the Ruta Beggars, a bluegrass ensemble, on March 28. All performances will take place in the Johnson Building at the Central Library in Copley Square from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoons. The series is sponsored by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.
