Berklee Latino, the College s Program Taught in Spanish, Returns to Mexico City in June

After launching successful programs in Mexico and Colombia in 2014, Berklee Latino, the college's only program taught in Spanish, returns to the M xico City campus of the Tecnol gico de Monterrey, June 15-20, 2015. The program explores the essence of Latin music, focusing on three main areas of study: composition, performance, and production.

Students will also interact with guest artists, participate in jam sessions, and perform a live concert to conclude the program, showcasing the skills they learned. Berklee Latino is designed for young musicians above the age of 15 with at least six months of music experience.

Berklee Latino is led by co-executive directors Guillermo Cisneros, who is also the vice president for Global Initiatives at Berklee, and Latin Grammy Award-winner Javier Lim n. Grammy Award-winner Oscar Stagnaro is the academic director.

We are very happy to be coming back to Mexico, where the talent always surpasses any expectations. Our presence in Latin America is a priority for Berklee because of this and we expect our initiatives to grow exponentially in the next few years, said Cisneros.

Through the program, students have won scholarships to take Berklee Online programs and to attend Berklee's summer programs at the Boston and Valencia campuses. During Berklee Latino, students also get the opportunity to study with world-class musicians who teach at Berklee and who also have vibrant performing and recording careers.

This year, the application process will be more rigorous than in previous years; only 250 students will be selected to participate in the program. More information, including application guidelines and deadlines, can be found at www.berklee.edu/latino.
