NENT Group taps Clipsource to leverage metadata

Provider is using the new platform to maintain internal control and upgrade its marketing and communication activities

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has hired mediatech provider Clipsource, to organise and amplify distribution of linear metadata and press information across all Nordic countries.

The new Clipsource system and workflow has a higher level of automation and supports a metadata model that structures data in ways the old system could not, making sure accurate and rich linear metadata can flow seamlessly between NENTs press and EPG portals.

NENT Group is the Nordic's leading provider of audiovisual entertainment, operating streaming services, TV channels and radio stations. Accommodating rich metadata has become increasingly important to the company in order to maintain internal control and upgrade its marketing and communication activities.

NENT now has a modern press system with support for multiple countries and languages, functions for scheduling multi-national sport channels, automated distribution of linear schedules and marketing metadata in legacy format as well as new formats with room for additional metadata. The system is also responsible for distribution of validated metadata to the NENT internal EPG-service as well as NENT's graphic system. The press departments also have a new Press Room designed to support the future of media relations.

Some say metadata is the new gold. True or not, but fact is that broadcasters in the last few years have experienced a growing demand for more qualified and accurate metadata, in order to serve both internal and external users, said Johan Wiklund, CEO of Clipsource.
