iWedia Enhances Teatro Pulse with Edge AI Self-Healing an...

iWedia, a leading provider of software solutions for connected TV devices, today announced two enhancements to Teatro Pulse, its end-to-end TV service operations platform for telecom and Pay TV operators: Edge AI-powered device self-healing for set-top boxes, and broadband telemetry that extends visibility beyond the device into the home network. Both address the same commercial problem from opposite directions.

When a subscriber calls about poor TV service, operators can usually confirm the device is online but rarely explain why the experience is bad. That gap is expensive. It shows up as longer support calls, repeat contacts, unnecessary field visits and, eventually, churn.

Today, resolving a device issue often means collecting logs, reading them manually and working through a lengthy troubleshooting process. It is slow, it requires scarce expertise, and it scales badly across millions of devices.

Teatro Pulse can now apply intelligence on the device itself, allowing set-top boxes to detect abnormal behavior, interpret their own diagnostic information and surface the likely cause rather than the raw data. Operators see actionable insight instead of log files, and problems can be identified before a subscriber notices them.

iWedias direction is to move from intelligent assistance towards more autonomous operations, with automated issue resolution governed by operator-defined policies.

TV service quality depends on more than just the set-top box. When something goes wrong, the cause may reside in the broadband connection, the home Wi-Fi network, the set-top box, TV peripherals, or the TV itself. Traditional device management sees only one of those.

Broadband telemetry closes that gap. Teatro Pulse now presents a single view of the service path from the internet connection to the TV screen, so support teams can see immediately where the problem sits. The platform distinguishes a degraded connection from an outage and confirms when service has genuinely been restored.

For operators, this means faster diagnosis on first contact, fewer escalations, fewer visits to homes where the set-top box was never the problem, and support teams that need less specialist knowledge to resolve everyday issues.

Operators have invested heavily in device management and telemetry over the last decade. The next challenge is not collecting more data, but turning it into decisions, said Nikola Teslic, CTO at iWedia. Edge AI helps the device understand its own state. Broadband telemetry gives operators sight of everything around it. Together, they move device operations from reacting to subscriber complaints towards preventing them.
