In a tragic turn of events, Migos rapper Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, has reportedly been fatally shot over a game of dice in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday 1 November. BBC reported that the star was killed at a bowling alley where he was playing dice with his uncle and fellow Migos member Quavo.

The American rapper, singer and songwriter was best known as a member of the hip-hop and trap music trio Migos along with Quavo and his cousin Offset.

Pioneers of the Migos flow' The group shot to fame for pioneering a style of rapping in choppy, staccato triplets known as the Migos flow , according to BBC.

Takeoff was quoted in an interview with The Fader as saying that music was his escape route when growing up in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Growing up, I was trying to make it in music. I was grinding, which is just what I loved doing. I didn't have nothing else to do, the musician said.

In my spare time, I'd record myself. Find a beat just making something and creating for me. I'd wait for Quavo to get back from football practice and I'd play my songs for him.

The band decided to go their separate ways earlier this year.
