Music Expo, the multi-city conference for music makers in association with Sound On Sound announces Keynote Speaker and acclaimed DJ/Producer Viceroy along with program highlights for the upcoming, fifth anniversary San Francisco conference. With an exciting line-up that includes SoundGirls' Karrie Keyes (Monitor Engineer for Pearl Jam), Producer Decap (Joyner Lucas, Locksmith, Talib Kweli), Journalist Michelle Threadgould and Mastering Engineer Piper Payne (Third Eye Blind, Madame Gandhi, The She's), talks will be based around two key themes including Unleashing Your Success' and Diversity in the Industry.'

Music Expo San Francisco's program will include panels, live mixing sessions, masterclasses, product demos and audio exhibitions. Music Expo is pleased to welcome for the first time Akai, Audionamix, Focusrite/Novation, Genelec and Warm Audio to the San Francisco show.

DJ and Producer Viceroy will give the keynote address at the fifth annual Music Expo San FranciscoBreakout sessions will cover tracks in creative, technology and music business, and acknowledge all stages of the music creation and the production process as it relates to songwriting, arranging, sound design, tracking, editing, mixing and mastering. Due to the outpouring of requests to lengthen the engaging discussions, Music Expo is extending several of the sessions this year. Program highlights include:

Track deconstructions! West Coast, Hip-hop Music Producer Decap (Joyner Lucas, Locksmith, Talib Kweli) will deconstruct his song Brazil. Producer/Engineer Nahuel Bronzini will mix Grammy-winning artist Fantastic Negritos song The Duffer. LA-based Radium Media Composers and Producers Kevin KDE' Beggs and Bradley Denniston will deconstruct a film score composition that will be featured in an upcoming Netflix TV Show Cannon Busters, (airing in Spring 2019).

Sounds Of Change: Music, Organizing, and Activism in the Bay, led by Michelle Threadgold will cover what it takes to build a movement in the music/arts industry. Thinking beyond the Nov. elections and getting out the vote, some of the leading voices and organizers in the Bay Area will discuss the relationship between art, activism, and community, and why all three are key to survival.

Survival of the Fittest: How to Really Make a Living In Audio, will bring together a diverse group of audio pros including Matt Boudreau, Karrie Keyes, Brian Gibbs, Frank Socorro and Piper Payne to discuss the strategies audio professionals use to support a viable living. Topics will include diversification, side hustle, money management and tips on how to run your own audio business.

Newly-extended session Convert Your Fears into POWER and Pivot! with and Decap. Successful venture capitalist and author of How Me Found I, Abby Juan, and Billboard Top 10 Music Producer Decap discuss how to create SUCCESS with your music by actively stepping outside of your comfort zone, and converting your fears into the POWER that will pivot you into the career you envision. The session will double as a hands-on workshop and be offered twice.

Amplify Diversity, led by Mastering Engineer Piper Payne will be a town hall discussion on the exclusivity that exists in the entertainment industry and how the community can rally together to bring diversity to the forefront.

SoundGirls, an organization to support women working in professional audio and music production, will host three panels including Careers In Audio with Emmy-nominated Production Sound Mixer Lauretta Molitor, Live Sound Engineer Deanna Franklin (Tom Waits, Pink, David Byrne), Audio Engineer Jackie Minor, Google's Live Sound Event Technician Bethany Wycoff, and Dolby Laboratories QA Engineer/Cinema Technology expert Karen Stackpole.

Live session! Grammy-nominated Producer Greg Landau (Los Cojelites, Patato Vald s, Omar Sosa) will record Haitian Master Drummer Jeff Pierre live, mixing Latin and Caribbean rhythms with electronic beats.

Attendees with submissions to the Viceroy/Music Expo/Splice 1999 remix contest will be awarded during a special Remix Award Ceremony taking place during the conference.
