The general secretariat of industry exposes the strategic lines to the digital transformation Bego a Cristeto analyzes in MATELEC (IFEMA) the novelties and the level of development of the initiative industry connected 4.0 driven by the Ministry of industry, energy and tourism.
The general secretariat of industry and SMEs, Bego a Cristeto, today attended the Conference industry 4.0: on the road of the 4th industrial revolution, held within the framework of the International Salon of solutions for the electrical and electronics industry, Matelec, organized by IFEMA in Madrid.
Cristeto has stressed the need that the Spanish industry carry out a digital transformation, since we are talking about a sector that has a multiplier effect that extends to areas such as research and development of technology-based services and is, therefore, guaranteed growth, employment of quality, competitiveness and prosperity.
The Secretariat has focused his speech to explain how the initiative industry connected 4.0, a public-private project that was born with the purpose of promoting the digital transformation of the Spanish industry is developing. Presented last year, the initiative has three objectives: increase the industrial added value and employment in the sector; encourage the Spanish model for the industry of the future and develop the local supply of digital solutions; and develop differential competitive levers to promote Spanish industry and boost exports.
Industrial scanning
Since the end of the 20TH century we live to the fourth industrial revolution, with an exponential increase of digitization in all productive units of the economy. Physical objects are being integrated into the information networks. Internet is located in the center of the system, combining the production of systems and processes with increasingly intelligent machines, to form a giant information system as well. The introduction of digital technologies in the industry is unstoppable to creating intelligent industry.
Markets are increasingly globalised, demanding and competitive, and the industry has to adapt and undertake digitization processes to maintain competitive positions. Multiplication of connectivity, the emergence of new technologies like cloud computing, internet of things, big data or the sensor, allow that industry can meet this challenge, and in this way reach the fourth industrial revolution.
Today European and Spanish industry must undertake a process of digital transformation in order to meet the demands of a highly technological society, more and more demanding. To achieve this goal, the industry has to do things in a different way, dealing with challenges such as the collaborative design, flexibility and efficiency in manufacturing, reduction of time of production, the creation of intelligent logistic models, the transformation of channels, the forecast of the needs of the client, the hyper, traceability and series multidimensional, specialization industrial ecosystems of value creation, sustainability, and customization of the product.
For this it is necessary to introduce and foster the intensive use of technologies in the companies. Technologies such as cloud computing, big data, 3D printing, robotics collaborative, augmented reality, systems ciberfisicos or the internet of things.
Industry connected 4.0
To facilitate the process of digital transformation of the Spanish industry, in July 2015 the General Secretariat of industry and SMES launched, within the framework of the Agenda for strengthening industry connected 4.0 initiative, which aims to develop differential competitive levers and the creation of conditions to promote the competitiveness of Spanish companies and boost exports thus building the Spanish model for the industry of the future.
