A new series of Ninja Warrior UK

Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara return for a new series of Ninja Warrior UK.

Hit TV series Ninja Warrior UK will be returning to ITV for a second series in 2016.

The series will be hosted by Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara and sees competitors pushed to their limits as they attempt to complete TV's toughest obstacle course.

The format which was already a smash hit in the USA, Sweden and Japan, proved popular with ITV viewers peaking at 6 million.

Each part of the series was laden with jaw-dropping challenges, heart-stopping excitement and adrenaline-fuelled action as the contestants attempt to complete three punishing and potentially hilarious stages.

In the first series, viewers saw 250 ambitious competitors start but no one conquer the toughest obstacle course ever seen on British television. The final episode saw Tim Shieff become the last man standing' beating thirteen other contestants to get the furthest on the final course. The nail biting episode saw him just miss out on the chance to climb Mount Midoryama by a fraction of a second.

The call to action for the second series has already seen 18,000 viewers apply to take on the legendary obstacle course but who will have the skills and strength to complete the tough challenges and who will fall foul at the first hurdle?

Ninja Warrior UK is a Potato production for ITV. The series was commissioned by Elaine Bedell, ITV's Director of Entertainment and Comedy and Asif Zubairy Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, ITV. The executive producers are Michael Kelpie, Martin Scott and Simon Marsh, Potato.

Ninja Warrior is based on Sasuke, a TBS format and will be produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios in the UK
