Mike Flanagan, formerly President of Video Symphony has joined Key Code Media as Director of Education. Mr. Flanagan will be tapping into his two decades of experience in professional media education and post-production to build educational programs for Key Code Media and its clients. Prior to joining Key Code, Flanagan founded and oversaw the development of Video Symphony from a small Avid-authorized Education Center to a leading vocational college and training center for editing, motion graphics, and sound engineering. Flanagan brings 21 years of industry experience that started when he bought his first Avid Media Composer in 1994 from Mike Cavanagh, Key Code Media's President. Flanagan will create new educational services, certificated training and assessments for media production products and workflows. He will also expand the training already being done by Key Code for its clients. Initial classroom and onsite client offerings will cover industry-leading software from Avid (Media Composer and Pro Tools), Adobe (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop), Blackmagic (Da Vinci Resolve), Maxon (Cinema 4D), and NewTek (TriCaster). In addition, Key Code Media will be providing more in depth programs for advanced workflow solutions such as transcoding, asset management, archive and storage management.
Digital media platforms and workflows are changing quickly. Our clients have a critical need to quickly learn the new tools and workflows. It is imperative for Key Code Media to be a deeper partner in helping our clients educate their staff and freelance pool with their new technology investments said Mike Cavanagh. This is a challenge we're taking head on, with new educational training services to accelerate our clients' talent.
A key challenge for the broadcast & post production community is understanding how to use the hardware and software given to them for media production. Companies continue to make investments in new technology, but revenue is lost and costs incurred due to under-educated staff not fully leveraging their tools of production. An often-transient workforce that is ramped up for each production also makes life more difficult for busy production supervisors and senior artists.
Mike Cavanagh and I have worked together for over 20 years, and I'm excited to be a part of the Key Code Media team said Mike Flanagan. Mike Cavanagh's and my paths have paralleled since 1994, and since then we have bought services from each other's companies and consulted with each other about our opportunities and challenges.
