Techtel Powers Next-Generation Broadcast Capabilities for New Studio Hub

Designed as a central production hub for news, audio, and digital teams, the new facility offers advanced automation, broadcast control, and future-proofed technology for agile content sharing and distribution.
The new broadcast headquarters, officially opened in May 2024, streamlines operations and fosters collaboration with cutting-edge studio infrastructure. This project represents the largest and most advanced deployment of Telemetrics robotics in Australia, incorporating four TelemetricsOmniGlide platforms to set a new benchmark in broadcast technology.
These Telemetrics rovers leverage AI, advanced software, and precision sensors to map their surroundings using a sophisticated star-mapping system.
A standout feature of the deployment is the intelligent AI technology integrated into the Telemetrics OmniGlide platforms. These rovers utilise advanced software and sensors, mapping their environment with a unique star-mapping system. Wide-angle cameras pointed at the ceiling identify a constellation of tracking point stars,' enabling precise navigation and seamless camera movement in dynamic studio environments. The AI-driven platform also incorporates collision avoidance technologies, ensuring safe operation around people and objects while enhancing overall efficiency.

Beyond intelligent robotics, Techtel deployed the EDCS Enterprise Database Control Server, enabling robotic controllers to access Telemetrics systems across multiple studios and remote locations. This comprehensive control solution offers unmatched flexibility in content creation and management, ensuring the facility is equipped to meet the evolving demands of the broadcasting industry.
The new studio hub now stands as one of the most sophisticated news broadcasting facilities in the country, expected to serve as a benchmark for future developments in the industry. Its intelligent automation systems, cloud-based infrastructure, and cutting-edge camera robotics enable faster, more agile broadcasts with superior production quality.
