Wednesday 5 October Hit US medical drama Code Black welcomes Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Parks and Recreation) as Col. Ethan Willis to its second season. He joins season one stars, Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzman and Boris Kodjoe, when the series returns to W on Wednesday 2nd November at 9pm.
Col. Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) has been embedded at Angels Memorial by the U.S. Militarys most elite medical program to teach innovative medicine in a hospital that often resembles the combat zone hes familiar with.
At the heart of the Angels Memorial Hospital ERs controlled chaos is Residency Director Dr Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden), a stop-at-nothing residency director whose job is to save lives in an often impossible environment. She is known by the group of residents as Daddy, alongside Mama, ER Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman).
The team work under - and sometimes against - the iron-hand of ER and OR Director Dr Will Campbell (Boris Kodjoe), a top-tier surgeon who was put in charge of both departments in an effort to save money and simplify administration.
Code Blacks first year residents Angus Leighton (Harry Ford), Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) return, alongside Dr. Heather Pinkney (Jillian Murray). The team are joined by bright-eyed brand new first years Elliot Han (Heroes star Noah Gray Cabey), Charlotte Piel (Nafessa Williams) and Noa Kean (Emily Tyra).
Its the constant tension between the staggering influx of patients and the limited resources of the busiest ER in America that creates Code Black. In Center Stage, life is measured in seconds. These heroic doctors and nurses operate with speed and skill within an overwhelmed system to heal people who are often there for one of two reasons: to die or to receive a life-saving miracle.
The series opens as Colonel Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) takes Dr. Mike Leighton (Tommy Dewey), Angus brother, on a harrowing helicopter ride to save shark bite victims in Malibu, with terrifying consequences.
Code Black season two, new and exclusive to W, on Wednesday 2nd November at 9pm.
