ARELIS group Acquires Thomson Broadcast Fri, 12/21/2012 - 17:00 | by maud PARIS December. 20, 2012 ARELIS group acquires entire transmission business portfolio including radio and television transmitter products lines of the former subsidiary of THALES which later became part of TECHNICOLOR group. This acquisition significantly enhances the activities of the former French industry flagship company.

With more than 160 references worldwide, THOMSON Broadcast entity remains a leader both in radio and television transmission and in the military market. ARELIS Group will keep on investing to guarantee sustainable and lasting development of THOMSON Broadcast with 100% of its products manufactured in France these include the latest generation of high efficiency GreenPower radio and television transmitters providing significant energy savings.

With this acquisition, ARELIS becomes a key European provider of radio frequency and microwave electronics, energy conversion and testing with complete capabilities ranging from R&D to production. Strongly established in the aerospace and defense markets, ARELIS adds with this acquisition, a new sector of television and radio transmission. The group now employs 270 peopleover four main sites: Marville, Saint-Aubin-les- Elbeuf, Saumur and Conflans-.

The French group formed by the merger in 2010 of two innovative companies MEUSONIC and SERICAD became in less than two years a major industrial and strategic partner in microwave energy conversion.
