London, UK - At Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2017 Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) will today reveal a full range of solutions for across the military care continuum. From helping to educate and train medical teams before deployment to providing portable, durable, triage and diagnosis solutions for the point of injury as well as rapidly deployable solutions for Role 1, 2, 2E, 3 and 4 hospitals, Philips solutions are designed to improve patient experience and outcomes.

At Philips we provide a wide range of healthcare innovations that demonstrate our continuing commitment to improving military medical support. Our innovations at DSEI this year range from exciting breakthroughs within ultrasound that bring portable solutions to the front line, to innovative ventilation devices, to a wide range of mobile robust patient monitoring devices. Our growing range of military technologies and solutions enable early, confident diagnosis and rapid, effective treatment for improved patient care , said Paul Cropper, Global Head Military and Disaster Relief, Philips Healthcare.

Enabling military care and treatment, when and where it's needed

Preparedness: Being ready to deploy is crucial to delivering the best possible care. Philips has revealed an extensive range of bespoke face-to-face and online training and education packages for medical and engineering teams.

Also designed to aid preparedness, Philips Managed Services for equipment maintenance and replacement ensures that the right medical solutions are ready to use when required, while Philips Healthcare Transformation Services provides strategic advice on long-term healthcare transformation to future proof and enhance service provision across the health continuum.

Point of injury and medevac: On display at DSEI are Philips' innovative, vital signs monitoring and emergency care and resuscitation solutions, including:

vital signs monitoring to help diagnose and assess injury and treatment requirement, for faster, more efficient care

rugged, certified professional-grade AED for medevac

portable, lightweight, ventilation solutions for transporting patients from the point of injury to field or static hospitals

Diagnosis: At the exhibition Philips will debut two new breakthrough ultrasound solutions; Philips InnoSight and Philips Lumify, which will improve diagnosis both at the point of injury and within military field and static hospitals. Philips InnoSight, a highly mobile, compact ultrasound system can be used within field hospitals offering the clinical confidence that can help perform even detailed studies.

Philips Lumify brings Ultrasound with exceptional image quality onto your smart device. Lumify is a perfect tool to assess F.A.S.T. (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) exams, facilitating a timely diagnosis for patients with blunt abdominal trauma. Philips' innovative application based tool enables users to easily check and evaluate the torso for free fluid in the peritoneal, pericardial, and pleural cavities - especially important in trauma situations. In an increasingly connected world where the power of technology is at our fingertips, it's no longer enough to only create ultrasound products and services that are contained to the clinical environment. said Randy Hamlin, Business Leader Point of Care, Ultrasound for Philips. Lumify leverages advanced digital health technology to provide critical information to the right people at the right time, transforming how we approach care delivery for the military sector.

Treatment: Philips representatives are on hand to discuss tented, containerised and hospital based surgery, monitoring, respiratory and anaesthesia solutions.

The new Philips IntelliVue X3, being showcased at DSEI, is a compact, highly portable, dual-purpose patient monitor that instantly transforms from a multi-measurement bedside module into a rugged, fully functional transport monitor. This battery-powered, next-generation system features today's intuitive smartphone-like operation for proven ease of use and a familiar user experience. It incorporates innovative materials designed to withstand harsh chemicals used in many infection-control cleaning protocols, vital for high risk military zones. It offers a scalable set of basic and advanced clinical measurements you can easily tailor to each patient and acuity level.

Continued care: The Philips Healthcare Transformation and Clinical Informatics team are available to discuss how to simplify workflow, reduce errors and improve outcomes through consulting services and interoperable software and solutions. These solutions will help streamline management and analysis of clinical patient data generated by electronic patient records, diagnostic imaging systems and patient monitors.

Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) is held every two years and is one of the leading industry shows globally of its class.

Philips will showcase its military solutions on stand N3-280 at DSEI from 12 - 15 September at London Excel. Visit www.philips.com/militarysolutions and follow @PhilipsHealthUK for more information on Philips' presence at #DSEI.
