IPMX in a Variety of Form Factors - Cobalt Digital Has it All Covered at InfoComm
Champaign, IL - May 27, 2025 -- Cobalt Digital, the leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning signal processing products, and a founding partner in the openGear initiative will highlight an array of products that range from a new audio monitor to a collection of IPMX-compliant solutions at InfoComm 2025. The Company will showcase a variety of form factors to fit every need in Booth 2804 including all new mini converters, openGear cards and frames, and standalone solutions. Products include new audio monitors that were recently added to its ARIA line, and the award-winning SAPPHIRE mini converters and PACIFIC encoders that will both be shown enhanced with new functionalities and support for IPMX. Additionally, Cobalt will present products from its UltraBlue IP-MV multiviewer series and WAVE family of routers and control panels. Visitors are invited to speak with Cobalt's professional team of experts and explore the Company's extensive platform of products that represent the latest technology, including support for ST 2110.
COBALT ARIA Audio Monitor
The new ultra-flexible COBALT ARIA AUD-MON Audio Monitor features best-in-class sound monitoring from a compact rack mount size unit, perfect for AV applications where space is limited. Developed from customer feedback, the sound is produced by an efficient Class-D amplifier with DSP and specially selected speaker components. The easy-to-use and customizable touch display front panel is designed for simple and intuitive operation with 8 individual volume controls for mixing. Control can also be achieved through a web interface.
The monitor is available with both horizontal and vertical button layouts, external redundant power supplies, and supports a wide range of inputs including: 2xSDI up to 12G or MADI, 2 SFP for SDI over fiber, AES, balanced analog audio, and GPI for automation. Other very useful features include a live video thumbnail and SDI output for monitoring.
COBALT SAPPHIRE BBG-2110 IPMX-compliant mini converters
The COBALT SAPPHIRE BBG series of mini converters deliver high-quality design, function, and reliability in a small package. Available in a variety of configurations including single, dual, and quad channel, with some models capable of simultaneously transmitting and receiving, they are the ideal choice for directly displaying incoming IPMX content on HDMI monitors, including content originating from a WAN connection, or for converting from HDMI to compressed or baseband IPMX streams.
The SAPPHIRE BBG converters feature dual SFP cages with support for 10G and 25G Ethernet ports, audio sample rate conversion, and the receiving units can mix-and-match audio channels without time base synchronization with the video. The space-saving converters can be mounted directly behind the monitor, and are incredibly quiet, which makes them ideal for small editing or control suites.
SMPTE 2110 Input Option to the COBALT PACIFIC 9992-ENC
The COBALT PACIFIC 9992-ENC is a very flexible MPEG-2/AVC/HEVC encoder, capable of handling up to four signals up to 1080p60, or one 4K signal in an openGear card. PACIFIC now offers full support for ST 2110-20 (baseband) and an ST 2110-22 option for JPEG-XS video. Each of the four channels can be individually selected between SDI and ST 2110. In addition, support is included for full asynchronous operation (IPMX-compatible) or IPMX operation in the INDIGO 2110-DC-02 factory-installed option for SMPTE ST 2110.
The combination of the award-winning PACIFIC 9992-ENC with the ST 2110 input interface option creates a very powerful integrated solution that can be directly deployed in an IPMX facility for local encoding, low-latency transport over the Internet using RIST, or to drive a traditional ASI workflow, without having to deploy separate gateway devices. The ability to mix traditional SDI, ST 2110 and IPMX feeds in the same device provides even greater flexibility.
ULTRABLUE IP-MV MULTIVIEWER
Cobalt's UltraBlue IP-MV Multiviewer is a software-based multiviewer with support for compressed and uncompressed IP/SDI inputs and arbitrary number of outputs. This multiviewer is also available as a turn-key server and features support for receiving audio/video content over IP across a variety of protocols and formats with very flexible audio routing, bringing a multitude of options to suit every application.
UltraBlue IP-MV will drive multiple HDMI displays in any orientation (landscape or portrait, selectable per-display). The multiviewer incorporates support for the most common types of ancillary data, including various types of closed-captioning display. It also features full audio support, with flexible output audio routing and fully configurable audio bars.
COBALT WAVE 12G-SDI Routers and Control Panels
The COBALT WAVE family of routers are flexible, simple to use and easily integrated into any variety of applications with support for signals up to 12G-SDI. At InfoComm Cobalt will present the COBALT WAVE RTR-64x64 and COBALT WAVE RTR-32x32 crosspoint solutions which fit into a 4U frame. Both feature full-size BNC connectors, have a single 10/100/1000 Ethernet port for IP-based control, and offer RP-168 switching support. The web-based control allows full setup, salvos, monitoring, and preset management. This compact design is specifically optimized for 12G SDI operation but handles lower SDI rates with ease, as well as ASI and MADI. Cobalt routers feature an open modern control API for third party integration, as well as support for traditional control protocols.
Control of the COBALT WAVE routers is accomplished by Cobalt's growing line of control panels developed to accommodate the WAVE router family in
