Local comedy legends Oscar Petersen and David Isaacs are bringing back their iconic stage production, Joe Barber to Cape Town. The entire Joe Barber family will be back on stage in November for the first time in three years and tickets for the stage shows go on sale soon

THE HISTORY OF COMEDY SHOW, JOE BARBER' Joe Barber is a stage play based on real-life situations from the Cape Flats and surrounding areas. Speaking to The South African in 2015, Oscar Petersen, who plays the roles of Gamat, Outjie and Valarie, said over the years, the production has turned into a family affair, attracting the young and old.
Peterson added that he enjoys how the different characters surprise him.

Fooling around with characters gives you a window into what's possible. You step into else's shoes and [the] surprise that comes. It also always surprises me what people find funny.

JOE BARBER'S FAMILY REUNION' IS HERE Directed by Lara Bye and produced by Ian Bredenkamp, Joe Barber's Family Reunion stage show is set to hit the Grand Arena in GrandWest, Cape Town in November.
Oscar and I have missed our Joe Barber family so much, said David Isaacs.
The last time we performed as Joe Barber was in 2019 at three sold-out shows at GrandWest. It's long overdue to get the Joe Barber family back in one place!
These characters Joe, Gamat, Outjie and Washiela have become an integral part of my and David's lives, added Oscar Peterson.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW The much-loved stage show is set to take the GrandArena by storm on 7,8, 11 and 12 November. Tickets for Joe Barber go on sale on Monday 25 July.
