Sundance Institute Film Music Program Presents ComposersLab: LA on May 18 Film Music Composers Invited to Attend One-Day Workshop at the Downtown Independent Theatre

Los Angeles, CA Sundance Institute today announced that its Film Music program will host ComposersLab: LA, a one-day workshop for film music composers, on Saturday, May 18 at the Downtown Independent Theatre in Los Angeles (251 S. Through a series of informative conversations and interactive networking opportunities with renowned composers and industry professionals, ComposersLab: LA will offer film composers insight into the process of creating music for film. ComposersLab: LA is a condensed version of Sundance Institute's more intensive annual Composers Labs, which connect composers and directors and give them firsthand experience into the collaborative process of developing music for film.

The full-day program, led by Peter Golub, Director of the Sundance Institute Film Music program, will consist of:

Presentations by Creative Advisors: Rolfe Kent (Up In The Air, Sideways), Clint Mansell (Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream), Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Road to Perdition) and Aaron Zigman (The Notebook, Sex And The City) will show examples of their work and discuss choices and strategies.

Industry Panel: Including Doreen Ringer Ross (VP Film and TV Music, BMI), Carter Armstrong (Senior VP for Music, Warner Brothers Pictures), Robert Messinger (Agent, First Artists) and music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas (The Twilight Saga, Grey's Anatomy).
