TRIBECA FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2023 DATES AND CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS
THE 22ND EDITION, PRESENTED BY OKX, TAKES PLACE JUNE 7-18 IN NEW YORK CITY
SUBMISSIONS OPEN SEPTEMBER 19
NEW YORK - (August 23, 2022) - The Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, today announced that the 22nd edition of the festival will take place from June 7-18, 2023 in New York City. For more than two decades the Festival has been a destination for new, groundbreaking storytelling from established and emerging artists. Next June, Tribeca will continue to explore creative innovation across film, TV, immersive, games, audio storytelling, talks, and more.
Tribeca is a tentpole of entertainment and culture in New York City, and we're looking forward to welcoming back artists of all backgrounds and mediums to celebrate the power of storytelling, said Tribeca Co-Founder and CEO Jane Rosenthal. The 2023 Tribeca Festival will be an unforgettable event featuring blockbuster world premieres, live performances by award-winning musicians, exclusive conversations with creative visionaries, and much more.
Submissions for the 2023 Festival open next month. Features, NOW, immersive, and games submissions open on September 19, 2022 and close on October 26, 2022 (early), December 7, 2022 (official), and January 18, 2023 (extended). Shorts and audio storytelling submissions open on October 26, 2022 and close on November 30, 2022 (early), January 11, 2023 (official), and February 22, 2023 (extended). Tribeca Festival 2022, which took place June 8-19, featured 600+ events across New York City and was attended by more than 150,000 participants. Highlights from the Festival included the world premiere of the Netflix documentary Halftime starring Jennifer Lopez; the world premiere of FX's acclaimed scripted series The Bear starring Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ayo Edebiri; the world premiere of BJ Novak's feature directorial debut, Vengeance, starring Novak, Boyd Holbrook, Issa Rae, Ashton Kutcher, and Dove Cameron; live performances and appearances by Taylor Swift, Lil Baby, Cynthia Erivo, Common, Pharrell, and others.
The Tribeca Festival is curated by Festival Director and VP of Programming Cara Cusumano, Artistic Director Fr d ric Boyer; VP of Filmmaker Relations & Shorts Programming Sharon Badal and Head Shorts Programmer Ben Thompson; Senior Programmer Liza Domnitz; Programmers Jos F. Rodriguez; VP of Games and Immersive Casey Baltes and Immersive Curator Ana Brzezinska; Curator of Audio Storytelling Davy Gardner; Music Programmer Vincent Cassous; and program advisor Paula Weinstein, along with a team of associate programmers.

About the Tribeca Festival
The Tribeca Festival brings artists and diverse audiences together to celebrate storytelling in all its forms, including film, TV, VR, games, music, and online work. With strong roots in independent film, Tribeca is a platform for creative expression and immersive entertainment. Tribeca champions emerging and established voices; discovers award-winning filmmakers and creators; curates innovative experiences; and introduces new technology and ideas through premieres, exhibitions, talks, and live performances.
The Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan following the attacks on the World Trade Center. Tribeca will celebrate its 22nd year from June 7-18, 2023.
In 2019, James Murdoch's Lupa Systems, a private investment company with locations in New York and Mumbai, bought a majority stake in Tribeca Enterprises, bringing together Rosenthal, De Niro, and Murdoch to grow the enterprise.
