
03-13-2013 SGL Group: Dr. Jrgen Khler succeeds Theodore H. Breyer on the Board of Management Wiesbaden, March 13, 2013. During yesterdays meeting, the Supervisory Board of SGL Carbon SE appointed Dr. Jrgen Khler (52) as a full member of the Board of Management effective June 1, 2013. Dr. Jrgen Khler will assume responsibility for the Business Area Carbon Fibers & Composites (CFC). He will succeed Theodore H. Breyer (64), who will leave the Board on October 31, 2013 after 14 years on the Board of Management.
Max Dietrich Kley, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SGL Carbon SE: "This personnel change is part of a generation shift in the top management of SGL Group. With Dr. Jrgen Khler, we have appointed an experienced manager from within our ranks to the Board of Management, who has a deep understanding of our Company and who has profound technology expertise. He will assume global responsibility for the CFC Business Area which is key to the Companys future."
Since he joined SGL Group in 2002 Dr. Jrgen Khler has been successful in several different management positions. He has had responsibility for the graphite electrodes and the cathodes business and was most recently Head of the Carbon Fibers and Composite Materials (CF/CM) Business Unit. Khler who holds a doctor's degree (Ph.D.) in process engineering, began his career in 1992 working for the former Hoechst AG and subsequently Celanese AG for more than ten years, five of which he spent in the USA. Dr. Jrgen Khler is married and has three children.
Theodore H. Breyer, Deputy CEO of SGL Group, will continue to be responsible for the North American business of the SGL Group, including HITCO, as well as for procurement, EHSA and engineering until his departure from the Board of Management on October 31, 2013.

Under his leadership, Performance Products (PP) developed to the biggest and most profitable business area within the group. Theodore H. Breyer will remain connected to the Company even after he retires from the Board of Management, contributing his experience in the board of the North American companies of the SGL Group as non executive member.
