The NFL is set to make history this week with its first ever game in South America and NBC Sports is on hand to cover the action in S o Paulo, Brazil, with the help of EMG/Gravity Media. The remote production service provider has designed a fly pack for the matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles at the Corinthians Arena, S o Paulo, Brazil, on Friday.
The live production solution from EMG / Gravity Media is a specially designed baseband fly-away system for rapid deployment, that delivers 1080p HDR visuals with immersive Dolby 5.1 audio. Key components of the setup include a high-capacity, modular Grass Valley Sirius 850 routing system, an EVS Cerebrum centralized interface for broadcast control and monitoring of custom workflows, and a Calrec ImPulse core with extensive audio processing power to handle complex mixing and routing tasks. Grass Valley's K-Frame XP mainframe delivers advanced processing capabilities, powering a 4ME Kahuna panel for seamless integration of switching and effects.

State-of-the-art Sony cameras paired with Canon UHD lenses will be used along with EVS XT-VIA replay servers, providing orchestration that streamlining the live sports broadcast environment by bringing together media ingest, production, asset management, and playout into a cohesive workflow. The technical infrastructure is also seamlessly integrated with a fully redundant 10Gbps network to ensure high-speed connectivity with built-in redundancy which prevents downtime or data loss, for reliable infrastructure and swift file management.
The booth setup is equipped with Sennheiser RF microphones and a Panasonic UE150 robotic PTZ camera to facilitate capture with flexibility in framing the action. Glensound commentary units have been specified for impeccable sound quality, and a comprehensive gallery setup used on NBC Sports' golf events will be shipped to South America ensuring operational efficiency on-site.
Prior to EMG and Gravity Media's merger earlier this year, the companies had built successful individual partnerships with NBC Sports over many years; most recently, in 2023, Gravity Media signed a multi-year agreement with NBC Sports to provide media services for its Big Ten football and basketball coverage. The merger of EMG and Gravity Media, which created one of the world's largest and most significant broadcast technology and production companies, further strengthens the ongoing relationship with NBC Sports, offering combined resources and expertise to successfully deliver innovative technical production solutions.
