The FibreBridge 6500 Storage Controller which ships with every NetApp Metro-Cluster-based system, integrates SAS/SATA disk or tape storage into a Fibre Channel SAN, increasing availability and scalability while allowing the use of NetApp FAS Series storage on a shared Fibre Channel network. Designed around ATTOs intelligent Controller Architecture which combines powerful hardware with an efficient data engine to create a platform that delivers performance with a rapid IO ramp and extremely low latency that enable users to configure seamlessly with NetApps DataOnTap operating system. FibreBridge also incorporates ATTOs Drive Map Director technology which reduces operating expenses by eliminating manual mapping of LUNs and the need to remap LUNs if a drive shelf is removed for maintenance or failure.
