Free Summer Concerts at the Greenway

BMajor

The Greenway Sessions, a part of Berklee Summer in the City, presented by Natixis Global Asset Management, continues with concerts through August 30, weather permitting. For more information on Berklee concerts in neighborhoods throughout Boston this summer, visit berklee.edu/events/summer. The concerts will be held at North End Park, 46 Cross Street, Boston, and feature food trucks.

July 26, 12:00 p.m. - Lauren Desberg

Desberg attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship and graduated this past summer. While at Berklee, she won the ASCAP Foundation's Leiber and Stoller Music Award, sang with the Beantown Swing Orchestra, and participated in numerous Berklee events and ensembles. Desberg recently released her first EP, Sideways, produced by Gretchen Parlato.

August 2, 6:00 p.m. The Dwells

The Dwells Paige Califano and Matthew Bean feature swirling vocals, memorable lyrics, and infectious songwriting, pulling inspiration from drama and expression in all mediums. Its new album Dont Ever Leave Me Like You Do, released in May, is a collaboration with legendary folk musician and photographer Henry Diltz.

August 9, 6:00 p.m. Amethyst

Amethyst effortlessly combines pop, jazz, and Latin influences to create a magnetic sound. The six-piece group delivers originals and collaborative new arrangements of covers from artists such as Kimbra and Taylor Eigsti. It recently released its EP, Something About Evergreens.

August 16, 6:00 p.m. BMajor

Byron Manchest, a songwriting major at Berklee, has performed alongside Grammy-winner Paula Cole, and was also selected as one of seven artists to be represented by Berklee's artist management group. His sound blends classical and traditional South African music.

August 23, 6:00 p.m. Siv Jakobson

Siv Jakobsen is a singer-songwriter from Oslo, Norway, currently living in Boston, Massachusetts. Her music is often described as both dark and ethereal, drawing inspiration from her background in traditional Norwegian music and folk artists like Laura Marling, Ane Brun, Joni Mitchell, and Melissa Horn.

August 30, 6:00 p.m. Melanie Lynx

Lynxs performance skills have earned her a spot in Hollywood Week on Fox's American Idol and performances at both the Apollo Theater and Carnegie Hall in New York. After performing more than 400 shows as the lead singer in one of New Englands premier wedding bands, Lynx decided to focus on her own solo career. Since then, she has been featured on blogs like Perez Hilton, Love Twenty, and Her Campus.

The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a ribbon of contemporary urban parks that connects people and the city by providing beauty, fun, and a sense of community in Boston. Now, four of Bostons most diverse and dynamic neighborhoods formerly divided by a massive structure of steel and asphalt are linked by beautifully landscaped parks, gardens, and plazas and reconnected with the harbor. The Greenway Conservancy is the designated steward of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, delivering on the promise of a beautiful, vibrant, innovative city park. Established in July, 2004, through an agreement with the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority, the City of Boston, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the conservancy is a private, nonprofit organization which operates, maintains, preserves, and manages the parks on behalf of the public. The conservancy raises private and public funds to support the parks, aspiring to excellence in design, operations, and public programming.
