Sheer Publishing / Skumba Music welcomes Jury Music

Sheer Publishing / Skumba Music announces the inclusion of Jury Music to their library music catalogue. Jury Musics legendary musician, composer, producer and Musical Director, Brendan Jury, has also signed to Sheer Publishing for his commercial and commissioned works.

With a career that spans over 20 years, Brendan Jury has an impressive list of Feature Film, Documentary Scores and Live Events he's worked on. A list which includes Black Coffee Africa Rising at Moses Mabhida in Durban with 22-piece Orchestra (2011), Dragonflies & Astronauts 3D live show with The Parlotones (2011), Nothing for Mahala, Rolie Nikiwe & Quizzical Pictures (Score in 2013), Miss SA 2014 Live Event Musical Direction, Scoring and 13-piece Chamber Orchestra, Happiness is a Four Letter Word (Score in 2015) and most recently The Lucky Specials - Quizzical Pictures (Score -In Production Due for release 2016).

Jury Music has forged a broad range of artistic relationships with leading musicians in South Africa and abroad. They have collaborated with the likes of Vusi Mahlasela, Arno Carstens, Loyiso, TK, Proverb, The Parolotones, Kabelo, Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP), Jabu Kanyile and Blondie Makhene, and regularly work with the backing singers of Miriam Makeba and Johnny Clegg.

Brendan Jury's career started in the mid 90's when he formed legendary Durban Rock Band Urban Creep. His career highlights pre 2012 include performing as part of Arno Carstens solo act, which saw them support The Rolling Stones in Spain. Brendan collaborated with Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music, Brian Eno, Dave Gilmour and Chrissie Hynde on Phil's debut solo album 6PM back in 2004. In 2003 Brendan played viola on the One Giant Leap album and DVD, a project including Brian Eno, Baaba Maal, Maxi Jazz of Faithless, Neneh Cherry, Robby Williams, The Mahotella Queens, Pops Mohammed and The Soweto String Quartet. Later in the year he was appointed, Musical Director of the Videovision production of the official launch for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, where he performed and musically collaborated with Vusi Mahlasela, Busi Mhlongo and the Siwela Sonke dance company. In 2001 Brendan collaborated with Ellis Pearson to write and perform original theatre and won the FNB Vita Award for Musical Theatre.
