Three Alumni from Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory Win Tony Awards Conservatory alumni Ben Simpson and Mike Mosallam won for Best Revival of a Musical, while College alum Charlie Rosen '12 won his second Tony for Best Orchestrations.

Charlie Rosen 12 won his second Tony Award for Best Orchestrations, this one for Some Like It Hot.

Three alumni from Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee won at the 2023 Tony Awards in the major categories of Best Orchestrations and Best Revival of a Musical.

Berklee College of Music alumnus Charlie Rosen '12 received his second Tony Award for Best Orchestrations, this one for his work with Bryan Carter on Some Like It Hot. Rosen, a 2022 Grammy Award winner for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella, won his first Tony in 2020 for his work co-orchestrating Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

Boston Conservatory alumni Ben Simpson (B.F.A. '11, musical theater) and Mike Mosallam (M.M. '06, musical theater) both received Tony Awards as producers for Parade, winner of Best Revival of a Musical. Simpson has previously won two Tonys for his coproducing work on Hello, Dolly! and The Band's Visit. Mosallam was also a producer for A Doll's House (Amy Herzog's version), which was nominated for Best Revival of a Play.

Professor Tia Fuller could also be seen at the ceremony, where she performed the saxophone solo for the opening number. She was one of several musicians and Broadway performers who joined host Ariana DeBose on stage at the United Palace Theater to kick off the show.

College and Conservatory alumni are featured in several productions that were nominated for Tony Awards this year. From the Conservatory: associate alumnus Nicholas Christopher ('09) plays Pirelli in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, nominated for Best Revival of a Musical; March nt Davis (B.F.A. '13, musical theater) plays several characters in Best Play nominee Ain't No Mo'; Andrew Durand (B.F.A. '08, musical theater) plays Beau in Shucked, nominated for Best Musical; and Allison Blackwell (M.M. '04, musical theater) and Aaron Patterson (B.F.A. '21, musical theater) are part of the company of Best Musical nominee New York, New York. From the College: Alex Lacamoire B.M. '95 serves as musical director for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
