Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) make an unsettling family discovery while in Long Island, NY for their wedding weekend. Meanwhile, Lily (Alyson Hannigan) has a confrontation with Ted (Josh Radnor) over his long-standing attachment to Robin, and Marshall (Jason Segel) scrambles to find transportation to the wedding.

Business is booming at Max (Kat Dennings) and Carolines (Beth Behrs) new cupcake walk-up window after word spreads about a shocking incident involving a rock star.

Christy (Anna Farris, Scary Movie) is a newly sober, single mother whose sobriety is tested when her recovering alcoholic mom, Bonnie (Allison Janney, The West Wing), comes back into the picture with a laundry list of Christy's questionable choices and mistakes. Along with her mom, Christy's ex and father to her son, Baxter (Matt Jones, Breaking Bad), is always around to stir up trouble. Still, in the face of her dysfunction, Christy tries to remain positive as she pursues her new path in life and relationship with her boyfriend Gabriel (Nate Corddry, Harry's Law) who also happens to be married, and her boss.

The Reveal
The premiere episode follows the cast as they depart for rural Guatemala. After a quick meeting with host Ray Zahab (Running the Sahara), the participants party through the night and a love connection is made. The next morning, Zahab reveals what their six-week adventure really is to build a community centre for orphaned and abandoned children in rural Guatemala and gives everyone a chance to decide on whether or not they want to stay. Later, the group attends a Mayan ceremony and set up their cozy living accommodations. Soon, fights start to break out amongst the group and the real work begins when they meet the local Guatemalan crew who will help them complete the build.

Eli (Seth Green) and Warner (Giovanni Ribisi) discover the trick to getting along with their dads after David (Peter Riegert) and Crawford (Martin Mull) inadvertently consume a batch of "medicinally enhanced" baked goods intended to get Elis creative juices flowing.

The Tagger
Jake (Andy Samberg) is assigned to investigate a graffiti case that he feels is beneath him, but things get complicated when he learns that the offender is the deputy commissioners son. Meanwhile, Ginas (Chelsea Peretti) psychic friend visits the precinct and reads Charles (Joe Lo Truglio).

When Jess (Zooey Deschanel) desperately tries to fit in with a clique of "mean girl" teachers at her new school, she (mistakenly) turns to Nick (Jake Johnson) for advice on how to deal with them. Meanwhile, an office party is anything but fun for Schmidt (Max Greenfield); and Winston (Lamorne Morris) plots revenge while cat-sitting for Daisy (recurring guest star Brenda Song) whom he suspects is cheating on him.

As if Mindys (Mindy Kaling) long-distance relationship with Casey (Anders Holm) isnt hard enough, now she has to deal with her new nemesis, Dr. Paul Leotard (recurring guest star James Franco), taking over the office. Meanwhile, Danny (Chris Messina) discovers a new pastime in the wake of his break-up with Christina (recurring guest star Chloe Sevigny). Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live) also guest stars.
