Harris Corporation Names Alan Callaghan Head of Australian Defence Operations

BRISBANE, Australia, April 22, 2016 Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) has named Alan Callaghan president and managing director of Harris Defence Australia, a new operation that combines the companys defence related operations in the region. In this new role, Callaghan is responsible for the companys defence related business development, marketing, operations, shared services and government relations in Australia. He also will help increase Harris infrastructure and partnerships in the region and support efforts to expand its market presence, particularly in the area of advanced communications networks - including tactical radio systems, satellite systems, geospatial solutions, ISR and electronic warfare. Callaghan previously served as vice president of international sales and managing director of Asia Pacific operations for the Harris Communication Systems business. He joined Harris in 2003 and has since held various international leadership roles of increasing responsibility. He is a retired wing commander with the Royal Australian Air Force and earned a bachelors degree in Applied Physics from the University of Canberra and a masters degree in Communication Systems Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology.
