Viewers of Mzansi Magic's Sunday night thriller, Umkhokha, are expecting MaMzobe (Deli Malinga) to kill her sister, Zodwa (Linda Sokhulu), this coming Sunday 28 November.

--

This is after Zodwa realised that her sister may have been responsible for the murders that have taken place in their community.

UMKHOKHA': THE DEADLY AFFAIR MaMzobe lashed out at Zodwa when she was confronted about the murders and told her to go back to being an alcoholic.

She also reminded Zodwa that she's kept her affair with her husband, Difa (Sibonelo Ngubane) under wraps from their children.

--

Zodwa and her husband, Difa conceived Busi (Hope Mbhele) who has no idea that her aunt is actually her mother.

Fans had already picked up on the family's secret a few Sundays ago when Zodwa asked MaMzobe when she will forgive her.

She asked this when MaMzobe sent Busi to marry their family's rival, Sphamandla played by Nay Maps.

--

MaMzobe wanted Busi to die and refused for her biological daughter, Nobuntu (Khwezi Ndlovu) to marry Sphamandla because she hasn't forgiven her sister for the affair.

WHY UMKHOKHA' IS A HIT The series is a hit with audiences because of its astounding storyline and talented cast, such as Generations Sthandiwe Kgoroge, Muvhango's Nay Maps as Sphamandla and many more.

The faith-based series pulled an impressive 789 218 viewership for October according to the Broadcast Research Council of South Africa.

Viewers of the series are requesting the channel to air the show weekly as they believe the show is too good to be aired once a week.

The show also got the attention of members of the Shembe Church who expressed disappointment with the series on social media last month (October).

The church members felt that the new Mzansi Magic Sunday night thriller was mocking their church.

Thokozani Mncwabe who is a spokesperson from the church said the church is not happy with the drama as it mimics all the Shembe protocols.

This is not allowed. We respect our religion and its leaders, but this is making a mockery of it.

A committee has already been set up to deal with this.

Mandla kaNozulu, who is the producer of the show, revealed in an interview with Daily Sun that he didn't expect the show to attract so much attention after just the first episode and assured viewers that the series is about a fictional church.

kaNozulu also added that there was no need to ask for permission from the Catholic Church, Zion Church, or Shembe because the show is not about them.

I agree this is the best, well researched by the producers and SABC 1 would have been the best channel for it especially because it appeals to that church . I still believe it was going to be the perfect replacement for Isibaya then the current replacer

What an outstanding drama

The storyline is fire
