Sony enhances solutions-based approach at IBC2015 posted: 04/08/2015
Sony accompanies partners through the networked media landscape
Sony is returning to IBC this September to reinforce and build upon its industry-leading position as a technology innovator, solutions provider, and trusted business partner. Sony will showcase its latest developments around its core capabilities: image technology, IP at the core as well as demonstrating its commitment to delivering end-to-end workflows. By expanding upon its Beyond Definition' theme, Sony will show how its latest innovations help customers optimise the creative, operational and economic value of their work. Sony will be exhibiting from 11th to 15th September in the Elicium Hall at the RAI in Amsterdam.
Sony's full AV ecosystem extends from acquisition to archive. Visitors to the Sony stand will see how Sony's long term dedication to the AV industry is rooted in pushing the boundaries of image quality. Visitors to the Sony stand will experience the stunning quality of 4K, HDR and HFR, and explore how Sony positions itself here as a technology innovator. Sony has ambitious plans across a range of applications, systems and services for 4K and beyond, working alongside customers and partners to deliver enhanced visual experiences.
IP in the core will also be a major focus for Sony at IBC 2015, with for instance over 30 industry-leading companies now working with Sony to develop the next generation of standards based on Networked Media Interface. IP solutions enable information to be transmitted with true creative flexibility, improving efficiency and reliability across entire workflows. Sony works with its customers to create streamlined live workflows, allowing them to get content out quickly and efficiently. At IBC, Sony will showcase how IP-based technologies are opening up new possibilities for broadcasters, and how IP helps customers create, secure and distribute their content over a range of platforms.
The third capability Sony will highlight at IBC2015 is centered around developing solutions that constantly improve media workflows in small or large organisations - either through improved functionality of the production systems or their ease of use. This commitment to the entire workflow spectrum is evidenced by Sony's recent acquisition of Memnon Archiving Services SA, in a partnership that will deliver state-of-the-art solutions for media companies faced with growing media asset management and archiving challenges.
