HISPASAT increases its distribution services thanks to an agreement with the Media Broadcast Satellite teleport Media Broadcast Satellite (Sat MB) reinforces your current service offering distribution of content based on a new platform of high performance and competitive infrastructure for the Spanish operator.
In the framework of IBC 2016, HISPASAT an agreement has made public telecommunications services provider with German Media Broadcast Satellite)MB Sat) of face to provide services of distribution of television in Europe, North of Africa and Middle East half (EMEA). Thanks to this agreement, both companies extend their powerful commercial offer, aimed at achieving the maximum flexibility for broadcasters that want to carry its signal to these regions quickly and easily.
Of this mode, MB Sat is sum to them teleports that already offer the solution of platforms digital shared of Hispasat from the position orbital of 30 West and reinforces its activities in the market business on the base of a new platform DVB-S2 and of the competitive infrastructure of the operator Spanish. He heart of the platform is located in the teleport of Media Broadcast Satellite in Usingen (Germany), one of them more safe of the world thanks to its high measures of safety and standards of reliability.
The Spanish satellite operator so offers a great opportunity for all the producers of audiovisual content who intend to distribute their signals, well in direct users (DTH) or indirectly, transporting its signal to cable or terrestrial broadcasting headers, allowing not only optimize the transmission in terms of power, but also in terms of bandwidth consumption. Them platforms digital shared of Hispasat facilitates the transmission of channels audiovisual individual within multiplex digital, sharing the carrier with other televisions. Of this way, their customers can take advantage of the totality of the power of them transponders of their satellites although not them occupy by full.
In words of Christian Fleischhauer, director Executive of Media Broadcast Satellite, "with this platform of distribution of video and data highly competitive, our customers can supply content within the coverage of Hispasat in EMEA with some conditions excellent and a high level of performance."
Ignacio Sanchis, business director of Hispasat, was also pleased by this agreement with Media Broadcast Satellite "that allows us to continue to expand our offering in EMEA from our orbital position 30 West and television operators provide solutions that adapt to each situation and each moment".
With this additional orbital position, Media Broadcast Satellite complements its offer of business in the distribution of contents with a new independent high-performance platform. One further step to ensure a neutral portfolio of satellite services to its customers. Combining platforms DVB-S2 or IP and retransmission, Media Broadcast Satellite and encryption technology is capable of providing tailored distribution solutions.
Agreement with Telespazio
HISPASAT has also signed a contract with Italian satellite services operator Telespazio for the distribution of content audiovisual through Hispasat 30W-5 to more than 600 rooms of cinema in all Italy.
This multi-year agreement will distribute content in the Ku-band via the satellite Hispasat 30W-5 and the Telespazio teleport of Fucino near Rome.
This agreement is particularly important for Hispasat for two reasons. First, it strengthens its position in the area of distribution of audiovisual content to theaters. In addition to a first initiative in Spain in 2013, similar, have occurred such as the agreement reached in Mexico for the distribution of movies and live events, or the agreement signed with the Teatro Real of Madrid for the live broadcast of the operas of the theatre in cultural centers and other institutions. Secondly, it is another achievement in the strategy of expanding services in Europe that the operator has been developing in recent years.
So far, the distribution of films to cinemas was carried out mainly through DCP (Digital Cinema Package) files using hard drives. This implies the creation of hundreds of copies of the original, that then are packaged and sent to the different rooms of cinema in which is screened. The cinemas downloaded the content of the disc hard in the server of the projector and then return the disc to the Distributor to be used again. All of this implies complicated logistics that is not free of risks and delays.
