Nielsen Announces Global Communications Appointments

Ben Billingsley Appointed SVP, Global Watch Marketing and Communications;

Flavie Lemarchand-Wood Named VP, Deputy Communications Director, Global Watch Marketing and Communications;

Kristie Stegen Named Global Head of Internal Communications

NEW YORK May 29, 2014 Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN), a leading global provider of information and insights into what consumers watch and buy, today announced the appointments of three global communications leaders Ben Billingsley as SVP, Global Watch Marketing and Communications, Flavie Lemarchand-Wood as VP, Deputy Communications Director, Global Watch Marketing and Communications, and Kristie Stegen, Global Head of Internal Communications. The appointments are effective immediately.

Ben Billingsley will lead Nielsens global Watch Marketing & Communications organization where he will collaborate with teams across media client services, global media product leadership, and Advertiser Solutions to support their strategic initiatives and further drive innovation, thought leadership, and engagement opportunities internally, with the media, and in the marketplace. Billingsley joins Nielsen from Horn Group, where he served as partner. He has more than 20 years of experience directing communications for global technology, media and online advertising companies, working with notables such as Microsoft, Forbes, Gannett Digital, MSNBC, Right Media and Rubicon Project. Prior to Horn Group, Billingsley held roles in client service for CooperKatz and business development for Trylon SMR. Billingsley will report to Nelson and be based in New York, N.Y. Flavie Lemarchand-Wood, in an expanded role, will become VP, Deputy Communications Director, Global Watch. She will continue to drive the internal and external communications strategy and support strategic initiatives for Nielsens television, audio and cross-platform audience measurement businesses. Lemarchand-Wood will report to Billingsley and be based in New York, N.Y. Cross-platform is the new black, said Lemarchand-Wood. Consumer viewing behaviors and new technologies are redefining the media landscape and Nielsen works with our clients to provide innovative solutions to meet their measurement needs.

Kristie Stegen assumes an expanded role as Global Head of Internal Communications. She is responsible for developing and executing our global internal communications strategy, and leads a team that develops and delivers content to spark associates interests, instill a sense of purpose and pride, and drive meaningful conversations.
