Aletes Create Amazing Content at Red Bull Rampage for GoPro Quik Challenge

Red Bull Rampage in Virgin, UT, is home to the heaviest mountain bike competition in the world, featuring freeriders who push the limits of what is possible on a bike on the difficult desert terrain. The athletes truly put it all on the line.

To add another element to the thrilling event, GoPro invited all riders to compete in a GoPro editing challenge, where the winner took home $1000, a Karma drone, and a HERO5 Black camera. Athletes were tasked to create an edit (one minute or less) on the GoPro Quik App with footage shot at Rampage 2016 and post it across their socials tagging #GoProQuikChallenge and #RedBullRampage. GoPro armed each rider with a GoPro camera and SD card to document the event, an additional SD card loaded with B-roll footage and scenic drone shots of the course and surrounding terrain, and a Quik Key, which allowed the riders to load their GoPro footage straight to their phone for editing with the GoPro Quik App.

Today, we congratulate Tyler McCaul for winning the coveted prize pack with his insane recap edit from his weekend at Rampage (see above)! Sitting dirty in second place, R my M tailler showcased the thrill and effort it takes to compete in this unique event posting his edit (shown below), and is now a proud owner of the new HERO5 Black. Sam Reynolds rounded out the Quik Challenge podium, telling a unique behind the scenes story of his dig team in THIS edit , riding away with a new HERO5 Session.

Submissions were voted on by a panel of judges based on 50% overall impression (insane POV shots, usage of Karma) and 50% storytelling (establishing characters, location, background of Rampage).
