Singer, former Isibaya and current Skeem Saam actress Samukele Mkhize plays the role of a villain Khwezikazi Khwezi' Gisela, a ruthless, ambitious reporter who's out to make her baby daddy Lehasa's life hell.

She joined the soapie in November and has undoubtedly become the most hated character in the SABC1 educational soapie.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT SAMUKELE MKHIZE
SAMUKELE WAS BORN IN KWAZULU-NATAL
The former Isibaya and Skeem Saam actress Samukele Mkhize was born at King Edward Hospital in Durban and grew up in a village called Maphophoma, KwaZulu-Natal, according to Drum Magazine.

2. SHE IS A SINGER
The Skeem Saam actress Samukele has never really seen a career in acting. She told Move Magazine in an interview that she loved singing and also wanted to be a presenter.
She also landed her first leading role in a musical production Madame President Musical, received massive praise for this role, and scored two nominations for the Mercury Durban Theatre Awards for Best Newcomer and Best lead actress in a Musical.

HER ACTING BREAK AND OTHER ROLES BEFORE SKEEM SAAM 3. HER ACTING BREAK WAS IN ISIBAYA'
The actress was popularly known for playing a na ve, village girl Mabuyi, who had a passion for building the community in Mzansi Magic's canned telenovela Isibaya. She told Drum in a 2016 interview that she auditioned for a role in The Road but she didn't get the part and the production company Bomb Productions Kutlwano Ditsele later called her and told her there was a role that they thought would be perfect for her, and that's how she got to play Mabuyi in Isibaya.
4. SHE PLAYED A ROLE IN UZALO'
According to zKhiphani, Samukele landed a small role in Durban-based soapie Uzalo before joining Isibaya.

5. WHERE DOES SHE SEE HERSELF IN THE FUTURE?
The Skeem Saam actress also revealed in an interview that she's looking forward to growing in front of the camera and becoming a household name.
She sees herself involved in big movie projects in Africa and abroad and also sees herself having her own production company.
