The documentary series Climate Fightback, Etalon with DaVinci Al enfrentarse con una cantidad abrumadora de im genes en varios formatos, el colorista Luo Chengyuan tuvo que terminar la clasificaci n de color para los tres episodios en seis d as, con cada episodio consistente en 700 u 800 tomas.
Climate Fightback, un documental de tres episodios producido por Entertainment Co. para la Televisi n Central China (CCTV) ha empleando la soluci n DaVinci Resolve Studio, junto con un DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel, de Blackmagic Design, en su postproducci n y acabado.
El documental refleja los esfuerzos de la humanidad en aras de enfrentar los cambios clim ticos surgidos a partir de la industrializaci n. Los doce meses de grabaci n dieron como resultado una cantidad inmensa de material grabado que inclu a 50 TB de datos nicamente del equipo de producci n chino.
Al enfrentarse con una cantidad abrumadora de im genes en varios formatos, el colorista Luo Chengyuan tuvo que terminar la clasificaci n de color para los tres episodios de Climate Fightback en seis d as, con cada episodio consistente en 700 u 800 tomas. Esto significaba que era crucial que el sistema de edici n y el sistema de colores trabajaran juntos para lograr la m xima eficiencia.
Debido a que se trata de un documental sobre la naturaleza, el director quer a que Chengyuan se asegurara de que la reproducci n del color fuera precisa y coherente. Esto fue f cilmente alcanzable gracias al amplio conjunto de herramientas de DaVinci Resolve junto con la funcionalidad del DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel.
Este proyecto requer a que los equipos de edici n y etalonaje trabajaran juntos, con un margen de entrega muy ajustado, de modo que no pod amos perder el tiempo. Estim bamos que nos llevar a unos tres d as completar el conformado y la copia del material obtenido, por lo que el director decidi emplear una din mica de trabajo basada en la funci n Detecci n de cortes de escena' de DaVinci Resolve, lo que nos permiti ahorrar ese tiempo, as como espacio en el disco duro , ha asegurado Chengyuan.
Gran precisi n
Hablando acerca de la precisi n de esta herramienta agreg que es capaz de reconocer m s del 95% de los cortes, y solo el primer cap tulo conten a 780 tomas en total, aunque tras emplear esta funci n, dicha cifra aument a 885. Las secuencias adicionales eran fundidos a blanco y disoluciones que en general ayudan a visualizar los grupos de cortes de escena. Todo lo que ten a que hacer era eliminar esos puntos de corte. Detectar las escenas en un episodio me llev cuatro minutos y medio, y tard menos de cuarenta en buscar las transiciones y eliminar los puntos que se hab an agregado. Una vez realizado este proceso, el n mero de tomas se redujo a 745, lo que en mi opini n es bastante preciso en comparaci n con las 780 originales .
Asimismo, las opciones de curvas en el programa son muy flexibles y pueden emplearse para hacer ajustes en una regi n espec fica de una imagen bas ndose en el matiz, la tonalidad o la saturaci n, sin afectar al resto del contenido. Por ejemplo, el director quer a que la escena en la que se matan los peces en el puerto tuviese un aspecto fr o, lo que combinado con un charco de sangre en el suelo, dio lugar a un estilo demasiado sangriento, de modo que utilic la curva matiz vs. saturaci n con el objetivo de reducir la saturaci n del color rojo. De hecho, es muy f cil saturarlo en exceso, y de ah que esta funci n me resultara muy til para arreglar los excesos de saturaci n crom ticos, como por ejemplo en tomas con flores rojas o insectos en el c sped , ha a adido.
En una secuencia con pandas, el director de Climate Fightback percibi que el pelaje de estos animales salvajes ten a un tono amarillento despu s de la primera etapa de etalonaje, lo que hac a que el oso se viese muy sucio. Con el prop sito de conseguir un aspecto limpio, el colorista redujo la saturaci n del pelo del animal con las curvas luminancia vs. saturaci n y matiz vs. saturaci n, junto con la herramienta de seguimiento Power Windows y las prestaciones para fotogramas clave. Respecto a la funci n de seguiento, agreg que esta opci n de Resolve es muy precisa, y es posible ajustar un gran n mero de par metros. En definitiva, es muy flexible .
A menudo, Lou emple a la vez los controles para tonos intermedios y nitidez durante el etalonaje del documental. Pude reducir los problemas de desenfoque al aumentar los valores en estos par metros. Utilic la misma t cnica en los primeros planos de la escena en la meseta del T bet, a fin de iluminar la textura de la piel de los hombres del lugar , ha afirmado el colorista.
En las producciones documentales, es posible que el equipo de grabaci n se encuentre con condiciones de iluminaci n incontrolables de vez en cuando, y de ah que el colorista requiera procesar secuencias de baja luminosidad. El ruido de la imagen puede ser muy notorio simplemente al incrementar el brillo y el contraste. Por consiguiente, us las funciones de reducci n de ruido temporal y espacial que ofrece DaVinci Resolve Studio, con el prop sito de disminuirlo , concluye Lou.
