Viewers of DiepCity have been wondering why MaShenge (Dawn Thandeka King) has been mistreating Nox (Nozuko Ncayiyane) since the inception of the show.

Viewers thought she hated her because she was partially responsible for her late brother's death and found it hard to forgive her.

But Nox revealed that her mother has hated her since she was born and has never been able to love her as she does her siblings.

Her mother loved her late brother more than she loves her and worships the ground her other daughter Lungile (Luyanda Shezi) walks on.

The pair's toxic relationship escalated this week when MaShenge refused for Nox to pay for her brother's tombstone.

She is reminded of what her father did every time she looks at her and cannot forget about her father.

This revelation shocked Nox because she had no idea that Bonga was not her real father.

Nox's and MaShenge's toxic relationship triggered audiences last night as it is something that many female viewers can identify with.

Many mothers hate their daughters, compete with them, are jealous of them, control them and belittle them.

MaShenge hates her Nox because her father was the love of her life, and she is dissatisfied with her life in Diepsloot with her current husband Bonga (Hamilton Dlamini).

Viewers are hoping that Nox's mothers will start going to therapy and start treating her daughter now that she realises her mistake.
