NBC will be used in the coverage of Rio 2016 control and commentator on IP of Lawo With the selection of the VSM and Lawo LCU systems, NBC Olympics will achieve greater flexibility in its facilities as the river IBC studios in Stamford (Connecticut).

Timothy Canary, Vice President of engineering at NBC Sports Group, has confirmed that NBC Olympics been selected to Lawo and your VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) solution in the production of the Rio 2016 Olympics, from 5 to 21 August.

The production will also use the system to commentator on IP of Lawo (LCU).

With the selection of VSM and LCU, NBC Olympics will achieve greater flexibility in its facilities as the river IBC studios in Stamford (Connecticut). VSM will be the system of global control for the management of core routing by connecting multiple third party devices to an IP backbone network, using approximately 80 panels hardware LBP and 80 panels VSM based GUI accessible from different monitors and tablets.

NBC Olympics will also deploy systems of Lawo commentator on IP audio along with multi-processor video Lawo V Pro8 to manage its coverage from Stamford. V Pro8s will receive video signals from Rio, desembeber audio and then inserted the MADI stream in Ravenna that will feed the commentator system Lawo LCU for up to 20 positions that will provide coverage of various sports. In addition, various venues in Rio will be connected to the compound of NBC Olympics at the International Broadcast Center with Lawo V Remote4 units to provide connectivity and signal processing of audio and video network delivered via IP connections from remote sites.
