Boston Conservatorys Shelbie Rassler Returns to Virtual Performance with Fight Song'

Boston Conservatory at Berklee composition student Shelbie Rassler convened a virtual orchestra of her female peers-instrumentalists and vocalists-to perform Rachel Platten's 2014 hit single, Fight Song.

Rassler released the video this week featuring an all-female group of her fellow students from the Conservatory and Berklee College of Music, as well as a few students from Elon University. The arrangement was audio-mixed by College student Dan Santiago, and the video was released in partnership with the Female Quotient, an organization focused on promoting women and gender equality in the workplace.

Fight Song comes a month after Rassler's previous virtual orchestra release, which featured 75 students from the Conservatory and the College performing Burt Bacharach's What the World Needs Now. That video has garnered more than 1.8 million views on YouTube and media coverage worldwide.

Rassler arranged, produced, and edited both videos, and says shes working on an even larger-scale project to raise funds for artist relief in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
