Angenieux sponsor of the 2nd Rendezvous with French cinema in Singapore Dec 5-92012-11-132nd Rendezvous With French Cinema is organised by Institut Franais, Unifrance and Alliance Franaise de Singapour and sponsored by Societe Generale Private Banking.

As Official Industry Sponsor of the event, Angenieux demonstrates this year again its support for French cinema taking the opportunity to showcase the contribution of high-end lenses to the art of filmmaking. In this aim, Angenieux will meet singaporean cinema students. Antoine Roch AFC will accompany Angenieux team in this mission and share his experience as cinematographer.

Festival Film Programme

A total of 12 films will be screened across two venues The Cathay as well as the Alliance Franaise de Singapour. Opening the event will be the film Happiness Never Comes Alone (Un bonheur n'arrive jamais seul)

which makes its Southeast Asian debut starring Sophie Marceau and directed by James Huth,

Outside of the official film selection, there will also be a special screening at the National Museum of Singapore Cinematheque of The Children of Paradise (Les enfants du paradis), a French film classic from 1945. The film has recently been carefully preserved and digitally remastered by the Path-Jrme Seydoux Foundation.

French Cinematic Delegation

French cinema's top leading lady, Sophie Marceau will lead a cast of French celebrities to promote the best of French cinema in Singapore and the region. Others in the delegation to date include actors Isabelle Huppert as guest star, Charles Berling, Fleur-Lise Heuet, Anne le Ny, Dimitri Storoge; directors Anne Fassio, Pierre Jolivet,and Jean-Christophe Dessaint; and producers Jrme Seydoux, Raphal Berdugo and Marc-Antoine Robert. The delegation will also be accompanied by Unifrance Chairman, Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre.

Not only is the delegation in Singapore to present their respective films, they are also here to be part of the Asia TV Forum & Market, Asia's largest content market and a partner trade event of the festival. The delegation will meet with regional industry professionals at the Asia TV Forum &Market where they will discuss the distribution of French films in the region. At the public screenings at festival venues, The Cathay and the Alliance Franaise, local audiences will also get a chance to meet and interact with the actors and directors during post-screening sessions.

2nd Rendezvous With French Cinema will run from 5 to 9 December 2012.
