IABM to Present at 7th SEMINAR ON EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES - towards a better motion imaging

Milan, SKY Italia Headquarters, May 14th 2015, 10am

The evolution of the media industry has been so wide and rapid that words like cinema and television cannot encompass it anymore. This is the main reason why SMPTE decided to change the name of his historical magazine from SMPTE Journal into Motion Imaging Journal , back in October 2002. The new title helped SMPTE to promote itself as an authority for the publication of documentation related to technological advances and change in motion picture, television, and multimedia imaging engineering.

This is also the reason for the choice of "towards a better motion imaging" as the subtitle of the upcoming Seminar on Emerging Technologies together with the need for new high-quality video formats. Motion picture and television engineering nowadays have a broader media horizon than in the past. Industry requests can be summarized in one phrase: "more pixels, better pixels". The goal of a better pixel could be achieved operating not only on spatial resolution but also on temporal, spectral, and radiometric resolution.

SMPTE Italy 7th Seminar on Emerging Technologies will gather leading experts from the media industry and academia to outline the trends that will drive quality growth in coming years thanks to currently emerging technologies in motion imaging.
