Season 2 of Disney Cookabout comes to Disney Channel --

Disney Africa today announced that Season 2 of Disney Cookabout will premiere on Disney Channel (DStv Channel 303) on Saturday 14 October.
Winner of the 2016 SAFTA award for Best Children s Programme, Disney Cookabout is a comedic adventure game-show that uses food preparation, cooking and outdoor exploration to showcase local ingredients and a fun-filled approach to healthy eating.
Produced by Penguin Films, Season 2 s 18 episodes features some of the best of South Africa s locally-farmed, wholesome produce, giving a fascinating insight into the food children are used to seeing only in supermarkets and on their dinner plates. In this season, each episode will present the cooktestants and viewers with a brand-new theme and location to discover local and international delicacies, cultures and, of course, delicious recipes. From traditional Xhosa cuisine, spicy Indian dishes, Japanese sushi to fresh organic vegetables, olives and nuts, the sumptuous food is matched only by the breath-taking landscape.
Home-grown hosts Kirsten Mohamed and Mthunzi Ntoyi return with a brand-new group of cooktestants who travel across the Western Cape in search of the freshest ingredients whilst carrying out challenges at various locations. With supplies in hand, they will attempt to create the tastiest dish in the magical Cookabout Kitchen where anything can happen, from doors and drawers sliding open and appliances responding to secret voice commands. Once their culinary creations are ready, the cooktestants will find out if they have done enough in and out of the kitchen to take home the Silver Spoon, and ultimately the Golden Trophy. Brand new Mickey Mouse animated shorts continue to be added into the mix, creating an entertaining comedic interlude for viewers whilst the cooktestants food is cooking.

Since 2006, Disney has been committed to helping families make healthier choices, using its stories and characters to make healthy living simple and fun. Since then, Disney has been looking at the different ways it can support families to live more healthily. This includes introducing robust nutritional guidelines for food and drinks as well as their advertising and offering content that positively focuses on healthier lifestyles such as the Disney Healthy Living Website, Aim High on Disney XD (2011 2014) and Disney Cookabout.
Cookabout is Disney Africa s second long-form series local production, taking viewers on a fascinating and entertaining adventure across the country. A dash of exploration added to a large cup of humour, sprinkled with brain-tingling facts and stirred with tasty recipes, Disney Cookabout plates up every Saturday and Sunday at 09h25 on Disney Channel (DStv Channel 303) from 14 October 2017.
