Movistar Plus selects ATEME's TITAN solution Spanish broadcaster Movistar Plus has implemented ATEME's TITAN solution for distribution of its live DTH/OTT services.
According to ATEME, the transcoding technology enables simple migration to the virtual video headend as TITAN is a pure software-based encoder that can run on any COTS or virtualised server. TITAN also provides Movistar Plus with bandwidth savings in MPEG-2 and H.264, resulting in significant satellite transponder usage.
Eugenio Lojo, head of transmission and conditional access, Movistar Plus, commented, ATEME has consistently proven itself to be an innovative and reliable partner to Telef nica Group and so was the natural choice for this project. ATEME's TITAN solution will ensure we're able to deliver high quality video to our vast customer base so they can enjoy our lineup of original content and the excellent service they expect from us.
24i introduces Virtual Experience Platform SaaS 24i has announced the launch of a new SaaS platform which it says productises all the services required for the convergence of pay-TV, IPTV, and OTT streaming.
Video Experience Platform (VEP) prioritises operational efficiency, and aims to ensure flexibility, scalability, and continuous innovation.
It combines 24i's Smart Apps framework, the 24i Smart Video engine, 24i Backstage, and a Smart Ecosystem of technologies and partners.
The development of this exciting new platform has been informed by the deployments we've handled recently for customers such as BroadwayHD, Slovak Telecom, T-Mobile Czech Republic, Topic, and Youfone, said Martijn Van Horssen, Joint-CEO 24i.
By launching services through VEP for all these customers with very different aims and goals demonstrates that this new platform is incredibly flexible and powerful. We look forward to our new platform continuing to help TV and video service providers to stay audience relevant by taking advantage of new business opportunities at every stage of their video evolution.
CTV Outside Broadcasts deploys Riedel MediorNet MuoN and FusioN gateways CTV Outside Broadcasts has begun using Riedel's MediorNet MuoN and FusioN gateways within its live production IP workflow.
According to Riedel, the SFP-based MediorNet MuoN IP gateways provide multiple practical interfaces for bridging SDI signals into IP. They can be installed inside a standard 10GE/25GE IP switch, while the MuoN modules can be configured to run encapsulation such as SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2022-1/2, and ST 2022-6.
The MediorNet FusioN device deployed by CTV Outside Broadcasts is a stand-alone gateway designed for remote control applications. The FusioN 6 can be configured with a combination of MuoN modules to deliver the signal processing capabilities the production company requires. The bulk gateway is capable of treating up to eight gateway conversions for HD/3G signals or four in UHD.
