Catalan cinema arrives in Madrid with a series devoted to the Gaud Awards From 20 to 27 January at the Sala Berlanga, SGAE and the Academy of Catalan Cinema offer a selection of the films nominated in the ninth edition of the awards.

SGAE Foundation and the Academy of Catalan Cinema cycle organized Gaud Awards 2017, to be held at the Sala Berlanga Madrid from this Friday, January 20, until 27 January. The show, now in its second edition, offers a wide selection of finalists titles in the ninth edition of the awards of the Academy of Catalan Cinema which recognize the best Catalan film productions of the year.

The series aims to bring the public a selection of the latest audiovisual works of Catalan firm candidates for the ninth edition of the Gaud Awards whose ceremony will be held on January 29 at the Auditorium of the Forum - CCIB in Barcelona, hosted by actor and musician Bruno Oro and directed by filmmaker, set designer and theater director Llu s Danish.

Specifically, Gaud Awards 2017 will offer: The friends of Agata (The friends of Agata) From Alba Cros, Laia Alabart, Laura and Marta Rivers Verheyen; The next skin (Next skin) Isa de campo its Lkesta ME; The borni rei (The one-eyed king) Mark Crehuet; Ozzy Alberto Rodr guez y Nacho House; The death of Louis XIV (The death of Louis XIV) Albert Serra; 100 meters de Marcel Barrena; The Chosen (The chosen one) Of Antonio Chavarr as; All the ways of God (All the ways of God) Gemma Ferrat ; A Monster Calls (A monster comes to see me) Juan Antonio Bayona; Mayor (Mayoress) Pau Faus; Bigas x Bigas Bigas Luna (Santiago Garrido assembly) and Priorat David Fernandez de Castro. Some of them will be shown in original version subtitled in Castilian.

The exhibition includes feature films in competition veteran filmmakers who have achieved success at the box office as Juan Antonio Bayona (A Monster Calls - A monster comes to see me) And at the same time it offers room for lesser known titles such as the debut of Alba Cros, Laia Alabart, Laura Rius and Marta Verheyen (The friends of Agata - Las amigas Agata). The documentary film is again present in this cycle with a very attractive offer: Pau Faus (Mayor - alcadesa) Investigates access to power; Santiago Garrido (x Bigas Bigas) builds a biopic about the late filmmaker Bigas Luna, and David Fern ndez de Castro (Priorat), Which tells the culture of wine as a landscape with a thousand years of tradition.

The cycle also hosts a space for drama and reflection with the story of Isa Campo and Isaki Lacuesta (The next skin - skin next) On the mystery of identity, with the tragic exploration of relationships that makes Marc Crehuet (The king Lanner - The one-eyed king) And the conflict of the resignation offered by Gemma Ferrat (All the ways of God - Todos los Caminos de Dios).
