HP Awarded $32.4 Million Cybersecurity Contract by U.S. Department of Homeland SecurityHP Enterprise Security Solutions to help 33 U.S. government agencies prevent network and system vulnerabilities

PALO ALTO, Calif. - HPtodayannounced the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) hasawardedthe company a cybersecurity contract worth up to $32.4million-thelargest acquisition of software security assurancetoolsworldwide-under the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation(CDM)government-wide Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA).

HP captured thelargestportion of the first task order awarded under the DHS CDMprogramto provide software security product licenses for 33 U.S.federalcivilian government agencies.

The original $6 billionCDMBPA, awarded in August 2013, includes 17 vendors. Developedinresponse to the expanding landscape of cyberthreats, the DHSCDMprogram was established to enable government agenciestocost-effectively identify and mitigate network, system andsoftwarevulnerabilities. The five-year, multivendor program isdesigned tohelp the government address the rising volume andcomplexity ofcyberthreats.

HP WebInspect, an automated web application securityandpenetration testing tool, mimics real-world hacking attacksandwill enable agencies to thoroughly analyze their complexwebapplications and services for security vulnerabilities.

HP Fortify Static Code Analyzer (SCA) scans source codetoidentify the causes of software security vulnerabilities,thencorrelates and prioritizes results, giving agencies guidancetoclose security gaps at the code level.
