Ericsson, Verizon and Qualcomm overcome first LTE the barrier of gigabit per second in the U.S. Durante una prueba realizada en el laboratorio de Ericsson, las tres compa as han logrado velocidades de descarga de 1,07 Gbps utilizando silicio comercial y una infraestructura de red.
Ericsson, Verizon and Qualcomm han superado la barrera del gigabit por segundo en Norteam rica. Durante una prueba realizada en el laboratorio de Ericsson, las tres compa as han logrado este hito por primera vez en la industria, utilizando silicio comercial y una infraestructura de red con velocidades de descarga de 1,07 Gbps, mediante el m dem Qualcomm Snapdragon X20 LTE, el primero capaz de soportar velocidades LTE de Categor a 18. Estas velocidades son el resultado del desarrollo y evoluci n constante de la tecnolog a LTE por parte de las compa as.
Este xito se basa en el reciente anuncio sobre LTE Gigabit con soporte para License Assisted Access (LAA), una innovaci n tecnol gica m vil que mejora la cobertura para los usuarios de smartphones en el interior de los edificios. Para alcanzar la velocidad de 1,07 Gbps se utilizaron nicamente tres carrier de 20 MHz de espectro FDD (Frequency Division Duplex), obteniendo as nuevos niveles de eficiencia espectral para redes y dispositivos comerciales.
Estas capacidades permitir n hacer llegar el desarrollo de la experiencia del gigabit a m s clientes, as como desarrollar nuevas innovaciones inal mbricas.
Otro importante es que las compa as emplearon 12 flujos LTE simult neos, lo que hace posible incrementar hasta un 20% las velocidades m ximas de datos, as como la capacidad, mejorando al mismo tiempo la velocidad media. Tambi n utilizaron el Ericsson Radio System y el software LTE, junto con un dispositivo de test m vil basado en el m dem Snapdragon X20.
Las velocidades de 1,07 Gbps se alcanzaron mediante el uso de todas las combinaciones de licencia de banda con:
12 flujos LTE con carrier aggregation de tres celdas de espectro FDD.
4 4 MIMO (multiple in, multiple out) por carrier, que utiliza m ltiples antenas en el emisor y en los dispositivos de los consumidores para optimizar las velocidades de datos.
256 QAM por carrier, lo que permite a los dispositivos y a la red intercambiar una gran cantidad de informaci n, entregando m s bits de datos en cada transmisi n y mejorando significativamente las velocidades de datos.

Por su parte, Fredrik Jejdling, director de la unidad de negocio de Redes de Ericsson, a adi que Ericsson est trabajando a escala industrial para mejorar la experiencia del usuario final y desarrollar nuevas funcionalidades y progresos con una mejor eficiencia espectral en LTE. Conseguir junto a Verizon y Qualcomm los 1,07 Gbps en un chip comercial es un gran hito en el camino hacia el 5G .
