LucidLink, the Emmy-winning cloud-native file streaming platform for instant, secure access to large files, today announced the next step in its vision to make distributed media immediately workable, wherever content lives.
At IBC 2026, LucidLink will show how LucidLink Connect lets media teams move from accessing files in existing storage S3, Dropbox, Frame.io and other cloud sources to working on them directly in LucidLink without migrating any data. The LucidLink Python SDK, part of LucidLink Developer Tools, gives developers a supported way to automate file workflows directly in Python and is moving to general availability this month. And LucidLink MSP gives service providers a scalable way to operate and deliver LucidLink across their customer base.
Together, these announcements extend LucidLink's foundation in shared file collaboration to a broader platform for distributed data and workflows. LucidLink Connect makes files from existing storage accessible and editable, Developer Tools make those workflows programmable and LucidLink MSP gives partners a way to operate and deliver the platform at scale.
Media companies do not need another mandate to move everything into one place. They need the content they already have to become usable immediately by people, applications and increasingly AI, wherever that content lives, said Peter Thompson, co-founder and CEO of LucidLink. LucidLink is expanding from the shared filespace teams work in, to a broader platform for connecting data and the workflows that depend on it. We're bringing work to the content, instead of forcing the content to move before work can begin.
LucidLink Connect: bring distributed content into the workflow LucidLink Connect launched in March 2026 as a way to browse and stream content from existing storage without migration or duplication. At IBC, LucidLink is expanding Connect so files stored in existing storage can now be modified directly in LucidlInk, alongside a new management UI for connected data stores. Authorized users can access connected content, open it in familiar applications and edit it directly, while the underlying storage architecture, governance and existing workflows remain in place.
Explore content across existing storage: Admins can connect existing data stores and make the content teams need available without staging another copy or forcing a migration.
Edit connected files: Teams can work directly with connected content instead of relying on a download-to-edit process.
Manage connections in one place: An intuitive management UI lets Filespace Admins add, monitor and control every connected data store in one place.
Preserve existing investments: Organizations can modernize how teams access and modify files without re-architecturing the storage, governance or security you've already built.
The latest LucidLink Connect takes users from access to action. Content stays where it's already stored, teams can work with it directly and IT avoids another migration project every time content needs to become part of a workflow, said Richard Yu, Chief Product Officer at LucidLink. And with LucidLink Developer Tools, those workflows can be automated and integrated directly into the systems teams already use.
Python SDK: the media workflow becomes programmable LucidLink will also announce that its Python SDK is moving to general availability later this month. The Python SDK is part of LucidLink Developer Tools and gives developers programmatic access to LucidLink files directly in Python. That means they can automate file operations and build backend workflows without relying on a desktop-mounted filespace.
Developers can use the SDK in scripts, servers, containers, cloud environments and automation pipelines. That creates a supported path for turning repeatable media tasks into software, from project setup and file operations to internal tools, orchestration and emerging AI-assisted workflows.
LucidLink MSP: a new managed-services motion for partners LucidLink is also introducing LucidLink MSP, a new managed service provider program built on the LucidLink Management Platform (LMP) introduced earlier this year. It gives managed service providers a centralized way to provision, manage and bill LucidLink across multiple customer environments, while using a bring-your-own-storage model that fits the infrastructure their customers already operate.
Partners remain the customer of record and own the end-customer contract, billing and tier-1 relationship, while LucidLink provides the platform, enablement and tier-2/3 support behind them. The program is designed for service providers supporting media and post-production, live sports, AEC and enterprise teams that need high-performance shared file workflows without sync-and-copy overhead.
Our clients come to us because they want enterprise-grade file access without the overhead of managing it themselves. LucidLink MSP lets us deliver exactly that, while giving us the visibility to stay ahead of their needs before they have to ask, said Matt Tape, Vice President of Media Workflow & Solutions, CineSys.
DAZN brings the borderless production story to the IBC Showcase Theatre LucidLink will also join DAZN for a customer-led IBC Showcase session, The borderless production platform: cloud, collaboration and AI at DAZN, on Saturday, September 12 from 15:15 15:35 in the Showcase Theatre. DAZN Lead Editor Matt Lee and Head of Automation Nick Lewis will discuss how DAZN operates production workflows across cities, continents and time zones, and how the organization is thinking about using LucidLink Developer Tools to automate manual touchpoints as those workflows scale. Tom Holmes, Strategic Account Director at LucidLink, will moderate.
