Talented actor Toka Mtabane plays the role of Khaya Jali, a handsome and popular guy in Showmax's hit series Youngins.

TOKA MTABANE AS KHAYA The fan-favourite Youngins character Khaya Jali is dismal when it comes to academics and has a tumultuous family life.
The actor tells TshisaLIVE that his character is not the sharpest tool in the shed. But what he likes about him is that he follows his gut.
He's an impulsive guy. Khaya throws himself in the deep end and swims out. He's that guy.

The 22-year-old adds that he was like his character at school. The only difference is that he was a smart kid. He had good grades. Otherwise, he and Khaya are quite similar in many ways.
He also says the best advice he received from his co-star Loyiso Mcdonald who plays a principal role in Youngins is to never be difficult.
Always greet the crew.' The advice we received from the older actors was that we shouldn't be difficult people to work with. It's a long run and you want to build a career you want to be able to sustain.

But you don't want to turn yourself into a doormat and have people walk all over you. That's what they always preach, and I think it's very useful advice. It's something I always keep at the back of my head. We read stories about people who come and go, so you try your best not to go in that direction.
Showmax Original series Youngins'. Image Supplied HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH KEALEBOGA ON YOUNGINS' Toka Mtabane reveals that he gets along with his Youngins co-star Kealeboga Masongo, who plays his girlfriend, Buhle.
We met at the chemistry test and in between auditions we'd talk about general stuff, which I think made us get along even more. When we finally started working together on Youngins, our chemistry flowed. I think it's also because we discussed a few things in terms of how far we'd push it. It was something done almost effortlessly.
The Showmax hit teen drama series also stars The River actor Thabiso Ramotshela as well as Rhythm City star Kealeboga Masango as it girl Buhle.
Actors Lebohang Lephatsoana play the roles of Tumelo while Tshepo Matlala plays Tshepo Masemola.
Other actors include Thabile Tau as Sefako, Amo Telekelo as Palesa, Lihle Ngubo as Zinhle, and Katlego Moloke as Alex.
The Showmax drama series is a Tshedza Pictures production set at a fictional boarding school named Olifantsfontein High.
Youngins director Themba Mfebe (Adulting) says the show is written by young writers who live the true authentic lives of the viewers. This series is an unvarnished view of a generation that is defining itself right before our eyes.
The series premiered on Showmax on 12 February with three new episodes streaming every Thursday.
