Marry My Dead Body Creeps Into Weekly Global Top 10 Ranking With 3.4M Hours Viewed In Five Days

In just 5 days since its release on Netflix, Taiwanese horror-comedy film MARRY MY DEAD BODY has entered the Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) Film charts ranking at #7 with 1.6 million views and 3.4 million hours viewed globally. Since its release on August 10, the film has secured a spot in the Daily Top 10 Film ranking in 8 markets across Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and even took the No. 1 spot in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam.

Responding to the positive global reactions towards the film, lead actor Hsu Kuang Han said, I am appreciative of the warm reception and how more viewers get to share the special and unique ghost-human relationship portrayed in the film . Austin Lin, who plays Mao Pang-Yu, the deceased husband, shared that he is thankful for viewers from all over the world who have joined in the laughter and tears . Gingle Wang, whose unexpected portrayal in the film has drawn positive reception from fans, said, I am delighted to know that fans around the world are now able to watch and fall in love with MARRY MY DEAD BODY, and look forward to bringing more moving and compelling stories that resonate with the audience .

A newly-released behind-the-scenes featurette gives viewers a glimpse into the making of the film, starring lead actors Hsu Kuang Han, Austin Lin, Gingle Wang, who share their experience working on the film, and director Cheng Wei-haos creative setting for the film, its cast, and its artistic style.

In addition to its stellar performance on Netflix and in the box office, MARRY MY DEAD BODY also had a successful run in the international film circuit, and is also the first Taiwanese film to clinch three audience awards in the same year at the New York Asian Film Festival, Asian Pop-up Cinema and Neuch tel International Fantastic Film Festival. Speaking to these accolades, Director Cheng Wei Hao shared, My goal in making a film is for more people to see it, and if you have seen the film, you are family. I am looking forward to having more people join the family .

The film brings the unique Taiwanese tradition of ghost marriage to audiences globally during the Ghost Month. It tells the story of Wu Ming-Han (Hsu Kuang Han), a straight policeman who is homophobic and afraid of ghosts. While collecting evidence for a case, he accidentally picks up a red envelope and is forced to marry Mao Pang-Yu (Austin Lin), who died under mysterious circumstances. The duo must work through their differences and join forces to solve the case, seeking justice for Mao and embarking on a ludicrous and tear-inducing journey together.
