San Sebastian hosts the premiere of Spain in a day, by Isabel Coixet Produced by RTVE and Mediapro this documentary film is a portrait of reality, dreams and aspirations of the Spaniards, with more than 22,000 videos that reflect their day-to-day lives.

Spain in a day, by Isabel Coixet, is intended to reflect a day in the life of Spain through the experiences of citizens told in first person. A global portrait of dreams, fears and aspirations of the Spaniards built through more than 22,600 videos of one minute that citizens themselves have recorded. The result of this project, the biggest participatory documentary film shot in our country, based on Life in a day Ridley Scott. It all began on October 24, 2015. Between the first hour in the morning and midnight on that Saturday, more than 22,600 people put to point their cameras, phones and mobile devices to immortalize what is a day in the life of our country: the anonymous Spain, their joys and their sorrows, their challenges and their filled of unrepeatable events everyday. The thread were a: answers what is fear? What you love? What do you think? What is your dream?

With this material, Isabel Coixet has built the largest participatory documentary film shot in our country: 90 minutes indicating a plural image and a few unique points of view. A portrait of emotional and close any day extraordinary normality.

In the Middle, stories covering from the extraordinary struggle of a young woman against cancer, the tireless rescue boats of immigrants and refugees, personal and social demands, honest testimonies, wailing and joys, children, parents, the four official languages and all ages: a mosaic of the current Spain.

Isabel Coixet made his debut as a screenwriter and Director in 1988 with Too old to die youngwith which he was nominated for the Goya for best new Director. The music is by Alberto Iglesias, winner of ten Goya Awards and nominated three times for an Oscar in Hollywood. Javier Mariscal is the author of the cartel elected by popular vote through the website of RTVE.

Life in a day

The idea comes from the original format Life in a day Scott Free productions which tells the story of a day in the land, recorded in 2011, produced by Ridley Scott, and directed by Kevin MacDonalds. They asked people around the world who recorded a day in their lives and to respond to questions about what you loved, what feared and what made them happy. Received more than 4,500 hours of material coming from 192 countries.
