Medialuso relies on VSN solutions for the creation of the new theme-based channel S+ in Portugal

Medialuso chose VSN solutions to create, launch and ensure the proper functioning of its new theme-based channel S . Through its integrator Mediaburst, S Channel team chose several VSN solutions, such as VSNMulticom, VSNLivecom, and VSNSpider.

Medialuso has trusted VSN solutions for the creation of its new theme-based channel S through the integrator Mediaburst. The channel will focus on informing about the latest scientific developments, technological advances, innovative products, and new services available in the medical domain. It will broadcast both international documentaries and programs dedicated to a variety of medical and health-related areas, as well as its own contents and programs, including daily live broadcasted magazines.

Therefore, the creation of this new channel required a stable system that could guarantee the 24/7 non-stop emission, as well as a studio playout solution capable of properly managing both contents stored beforehand and live broadcasts. The channel also had to address some needs that could only be covered by a media management system, like the delivery of media to video servers. Finally, both the channel and the integrator requested solutions and systems that could be integrated with the pre-existing equipment. Based on the channel needs, they chose three VSN solutions.

In the first place, the main solution provided by VSN was its automation and continuity software, VSNMulticom, with Scheduler and Rec modules activated for rundown generation and ingest and rec-lists programming, respectively. Secondly, the channel opted for VSN studio playout solution, VSNLivecom, which will allow channel users to control several rundowns simultaneously. The last solution provided by VSN was a virtual media management system VSNSpider, which will also carry out an advanced control of media delivery to video servers and virtualize VSNMulticom database.

Finally, the channel could count on VSN Engineers Team throughout the entire process, carrying out the installation of the different solutions and providing appropriate training for the adequate use of the installed systems. The team also provided support for the start-up and launch of the channel to ensure the proper functioning of the systems.

Thanks to VSN solutions, Medialuso S channel could star emission on the planned date, and the newly created channel now has an automated and continuous 24/7 emission, totally integrated with the chosen technologies.
